Guilds of Historica Character Location and Facts:

Avalonia and Kaliphlin; this post. Mitgardia and Nocturnus, see here (second post in this topic).

Note: This Thread is no longer up to date.

This thread is meant to help with incorporation of different characters into any GoHer's stories. The main idea is to provide a links to each member's sig-fig picture, and in some cases a short background for each character as well. I don't plan on keeping character stories updated except on request (via this thread or PM), but I may possibly add the background story for new members. Main characters have a (color-coded) arrow next to their name. Lives (where available), Secondary Characters, and other info (including Wiki links) are hidden under spoilers. Character names take you to their sig-fig picture (I've only got Avalonia and Kaliphlin done; if you would like to help me out feel free to). Characters are ordered alphabetically for ease of usage.

Avalonia:

Life:

• As a boy he was a very good swordsman and an excellent student, but the forest life was his expertise.
  
• So he went to the Enchanted Forest, to train with the elves, and became known as the half elf, for his abilities with the bow matched those of the elves.
  
• Before his father passed away, he had to return to the plains, leaving many friends and his heart at the Enchanted Forest.
  
• He was then betrothed to a Kaliphlian, daughter of a prominent merchant.
  
• He became first advisor to his brother the Lord of Arfelan, and after his untimely death he was named the Lord of Arfelan.
  
• Nikutai swore loyalty to Lord Artorious Rex, as a previous member of the "Flight of Dragons".

Life:

• Lord Arlindus was born to Orthus and Awhyn.
  
• Captain of Circardia and the Phoenix Guard
  
• Orthus made his home in Circardia several decades ago, after fleeing his homeland to avoid imprisonment. The hamelet soon became a prosperous trading point between elves of the Enchanted Forest and Men.
  
• Arlindus' mother, Awhyn, was an adventure that settled in Circardia and married Orthus.
  
• After giving birth to Arlindus, she died, leaving Orthus to raise his son on is own.
  
• At the age of 15, Arlindus was invited to learn the ways of the elves.
  
• He stayed with the elves until after his 17 birthday, when he returned to Circardia.
  
• Later, at 21, Orthus passes his Captaincy of the Phoenix Guard and rule of Circardia to his son
  
• Over the next ten years, Arlindus strengthened the Phoenix Guard and improved lands of Circardia.
  
• He answered the call of Artorious Rex and pledged himself and the Phoenix Guard to the "Flight of the Dragons".
  
• Artorius Rex granted Arlindus the title of Lord of Circardia for his heroism during the Battle of Red Ford.

Life:

• At the mere age of 19, Brickington became Lord of Hanaco, due to the mysterious disappearance of his father.
  
• Lord Brickington is unmatched in swordsmanship
  
• He contiues to build the Lordship of Hanaco, in remembrance of his father. He constantly thinks of ways to solve the mystery of his father's disappearance.

Life:

• Dueled with his nephew Fritz von Brickenstein, to be the next nobleman of Brickstein.
  
• He is working hard to get the small town back to success.
  
• Attempts to eradicate the orcs in the near woods and also is planning to build up a new trade harbor soon.

Currently: Brickstein (a small town in Avalonia).

>Burress, Trian (@ZCerberus):

Life:

• Little is known about Burress’s early life. Some say he was born to a Kaliphlin woman and Mitgardian man in a Nocturnus dungeon while others claim he is the secret heir and only surviving member of the House Greffin.
  
• He later helped free the Enchanted Forest from the clutches of the House of Baine during Avalonia's "wild period". It is said Burress’s well timed cavalry charge through the Enchanted Forest finally broke the House of Baine at the Battle of Eli’s Rock.
  
• He was rewarded with Lordship over Mesodraconem and a post in the capital city of Albion to help rebuild the Pearl City to its former glory.
  
• He has been rebuilding all the public schools of Mesodraconem and commissioned a new garrison at River Run Watchtower

Life:

• As a child, he was taught by Alfred in reading, writing, arithmetic, and the other skills of the age.
  
• Cassius' father died while he was still young, leaving his mother to take care of his estate until he came of age.
  
• He led several crusades against the orcs.
  
• Belongs to the house of Calpasian.

Quote:

"Love conquers all."

Life:

• de Gothia's mother, father and brother were slaughtered when he was still young The only family member had left was Quinn, his niece. He swore an oath to his dying brother that he would watch over and guard her and let her decide by herself whoever she would marry.
  
• He was later enlisted into Artorious' elite warriors, the famous "Flight of Dragons", and endevored to bring justice upon those who slaughtered his family.
  
• During the battles to rid Avalonia of evil and unite the land again, Artorious was able to take back de Gothia's captured land, and so de Gothia once again ruled his family's ancient estate, which he renamed Benoic.
  
• He continues to fight as one of the Dragon Flight and is one of Artorious' most trusted and famous warrior.
  
• During the search for the earth crystal Quinn died.
  
• As a result of elemental attacks, de Gothia led his people out from Benoic.
  
• de Gothia brought his men to one of the sacred sites in Historica (help me out here!). While there someone drank of the sacred water, despite being warned that it would lead to disastrous concequences.
  
• Fortunatly they were soon able to return to Benoic.
  
• He then traveled to Valaryio, where the "drinker of sacred water" was murdered.
  
• Shortly afterwards de Gothia himself was captured, and he sent his bride-to-be, the daughter of Elon Chorian, back to her father under a trusted guard.
  
• The past two points turned out to be a joke, and de Gothia left Valaryio to restore order in Beonic.
  

Notes:

• Nobody knows his first name, and it will be a secret to his death (presumably it will stay a secret afterwards, but maybe he wrote it down somewhere? ).

Life:

Life:

• Eremir's father was a crime lord who, in his old age, wants a better life for his sons.
  
• Eremir decided that Avalonia is a suitable place for their home.
  
• As he lives in the Enchanted Forest, he will protect it.

>Gelvum, Lord of (@Legonardo):

Life:

• Brought up in a very poor home in the forests of Glevum with his brother Gladia.
  
• He spent a lot of time learning the way of the forest men and the elves.
  
• Both he and his brother were exceptional fighters and joined the army of gruven at an early age.
  
• Legonardo, being very wise (unlike his reckless brother) quickly moved up the ranks until he was second in command, and he and the commander became great friends.
  
• At the age of 22 he was appointed captain of the army of Gruven and is still today.
  
• He is married the beautiful Eo'gas and has three children, Gloria, Richard and Steven.

Life:

Life:

• Exiled by his father's enemies upon his death, Kejtar's beard has already turned grey, even though he is only thirty-five.
  
• While in exile he mastered the art of the sword and several other weapons.
  
• He met his half cousin Olikus who persuaded him to try to retake his father's position.
  
• Tested out some siege weapons.
  
• Repaired his father's ancestral keep.

Life:

• Rabstan the wanderer is a peacemaker.
  
• He carries a formidable looking weapon on his travels called the siencher which is only for personal protection. It is also of sentimental importance to him as it has been passed down the family for centuries.
  
• Although Rabstan does not look like much of an opponent he has a quick wit and will fight for what is right.

Life:

• Fortes' was raised by a wealthy aristocrat, and was destined for the army at a very early age
  
• By the age of 20, he was adept all kinds of warfare.
  
• For his bravery, he was awared with an isle which he named Fortes Isle.

Life:

• Trained to fight with the sword from the first day he was strong enough to wield a weapon, he soon became an expect swordsmen.
  
• He always fights side by side with his men at the front line of battle, as he believes a ruler who doesn't fight is a coward.
  
• Artorious is a young ruler, at only the tender age of 25. Yet he leads and rules with all the authority of someone twice his age.
  
• His most trusted men make up the famed 'Flight Of Dragons', and they would ride into Hell with him if he asked them to, such is their respect and loyalty.

Life:

• Born into a house of thieves hidden within the Castle of Cedrica.
  
• Steals his first gold piece, caught, and eventually jailed.
  
• A young King Draconus frees him to be trained as a Knight.
  
• Denies his Knighting, and runs for the wild Avalonia.
  
• Found nearly dead at the gates of Denitor, Burrium.
  
• Supports the new Lord Rex of Avalonia and receives the duty as Keeper of the Peace of Burrium.
  
• Discovers a man at a sacred well. Befriends him, and dubs him Owlan.
  
• Sent to find a safe haven from the Elementals after a few years of law and exploration.
  
• Adopts the safe haven, Scalous Mound, a Colosseum turned Dragon Den as his new home, after it is denied as a secure area.

• Ranger from a farming family.
  
• Captain of the Guard.

Life:

• Long ago, Varis' ancestor Dallaenus led the first contingent of Elves to arrive in Historica. Following the Wars with the Drow, the Elves were scattered into isolated tribes throughout Avalonia.
  
• Adrava, of the line of Dallaenus, then founded the Rustling Leaves Clan. Since Adrava, it has always been the duty of the Lord of the clan to support and protect the Elves of Avalonia, and prepare for the eventual destruction of the Drow.
  
• Varis is the 7th Lord of the Rustling Leaves Clan, 16th in the Line of Dallaenus and First of his Name. In his youth, Varis defeated the Orc Warlord Gudock Bloodfist and his horde when they ravaged the Avalonian mainland.
  
• Later he sailed on the Gel Fennan vessel "Sea Whisper" and helped capture two vessels of the Marauder fleet.
  
• Varis' father passed on when he was 72, at which point he became the Lord of the Rustling Leaves Clan.
  
• As Lord, Varis has expanded the defenses of the Enchanted Forest, including the revival of the Elven Corsairs.
  
• He came to the aid of Gel Cidra when they were threatened by the Mitgardian Necromancer Grevelheim and his undead minions.
  
• He worked behind the scenes during the "Time of Troubles" until Artorious Rex arrived.
  
• As the Drow become more bold, and their numbers swell, Varis prepares his Elves to engage the Drow, and drive them back to the Hell from whence they spawned!

• Attacked by robbers, and one of the three was captured.

Life:

• Son of an unknown elf and a human mother, daughter of an Avalonian lord.
  
• Gideon was looked on as a half-breed and scorned both by humans and elfs.
  
• Grew up in his grandfather’s castle Nordana Hall in Avalonia and got good weapon training, but ran away and travelled Historica for many years.
  
• Joined the guild of Kaliplin and served in the Petraean city guard for some time.
  
• Lives in Barqa, but leads the life of a wandering adventurer and tradesman. Quite successful at business, don't ask.
  
• Fought in the battle of Queenscross, where he gained a nemesis in the cyclops
  
• Liberated the Khel’Zarim fortress Zar from invading orcs.

Life:

• Gideon’s oldest friend, after spending many years in Kaliphlin in his youth
  
• Avalonian knight whose county got ravaged by Victor Revolword and the Hand of Corruption
  
• Joined forces with Sir Gideon, to fight the Hand of Corruption
  
• Slain by the cyclops king Orgoth the Near Sighted in the battle of Queenscross

Life:

• Young Kaliphlin son of a merchant
  
• Served as a squire for Gideon after he had seen the boy’s extraordinary weapon talent

Emad ibn Sohail al-Haboob

• Shady and wealthy Kaliphlin merchant

Life:

• One of Kaliphlin’s best sharpshooters with his crossbow

Life/Business (it is his life!):

• CEO, President, and Chairman of the Board of the Petraea General Trading Company.
  
• After the attempted assassination of the King, the PGTS stockpiled vast amounts of oil, food, and ice at Lost Vegga.
  
• Shortly thereafter Doktor Frankenstein learned the secrets of Physick and Optickfrom Cristoph.
  
• He (Doktor Frankenstein) and Herr Leibniz of the mountain mummies then converted a temple into a totally innocent non-military experimental heliotrope, which operates as a civilian glass factory and which has substantially increased our GDP, trade surplus, and net income.
  
• Duc LeStrange hosted a ball in Abyssan, Nocturnus where he spread a lot of love, and learned of an ambitious neighbour, Daniel.
  
• After that, Sinbad recovered the Holy Crystal, Revolword betrayed us all and started his terrible war.
  
• Daniel sided with Lord Darecold and the defeated Valsharess in the Nocturnus civil war, and left Abyssan under a truce. He later purchased the Mitgardian village of Snowfell at auction in Lost Vegga.
  
• Following that, Duc LeStrange fled Abyssan carrying important information to Flagg.
  
• We learned of the terrible destruction of Caestra at the hand of Revolword and the Elementals.
  
• Out of concern for a repitition of such events, the PGTC removed its base of operations to the holy protection of the Necropolis of Amset Ra/Temple of the Mad Monks.

• Born in Avalonia to a noble house.
  
• Immigrated to Kaliphlin after his father's murder by allies of the House of Baine.
  
• After his search for the water crystal, became interested in the uncharted lands and species of Historica
  
• Began recording the finds of his expeditions in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Greater Siccus Badlands.

Currently: Chasing myths and cave paintings in the deep tunnels of Nocturnus searching for some mythical beasts he thinks may actually exist.

>MacLean, Dugal (SkaForHire):

Life:

• Pledged Eastgate's allegiance (about one year ago).
  
• Disappeared on rout to the oil fields.
  
• Popped up for an engagement.

• Eventually, elves found a Drow city. That was the start of many Drow wars in the continent.
  
• After 400 years of war, the resources of the Drow starts to empty. The Drow-lord started conquering Nocturnus.
  
• Nocturnus got darker and darker as the Drow together with the Dragons adapted the region to their needs.
  
• The Drow conquer the elves, but are repulsed by Kaliphlin, who ultimately force them into hiding.
  
• Drow begin to raid into all of Historica.
  
• Drow hosted Gladiator Games and a Warrior Beauty contest.
  
• They built several cities - Lith My'athar, Lurth Dreir, Elesee-Luna, and Waterdeep.
  
• Attempted to overthrow Lord Ssilyrrlith.
  
• Finnally, they were exiled, and are now rebuilding somewhere on an island of the uncharted lands, growing stronger everyday...

Good idea, although a tremendous amount of work you've taken on!

Gex's background is on the wiki. After the elementals ravaged the Muk-Muk Valley and Messahmuk, he retreated along with many others into the Mystic Mountains, taking refuge in the abandoned ancient temple of An-kah-shuritem, which unfortunately was never represented by an MOC. From there, he has started to rebuild the Army of the South to take on Revolword and his forces. Recruiting forces and retrieving powerful ancient magical artifacts has taken him to many places in the Siccus recently, including the Spice Islands, the Akhenaten Swamps, and the Dune Sea. He is sending emissaries to DaMaximus, Wahil Musca, Erudhalion Sansael, Rasputin Jones, Ageven Deraim, and others to coordinate efforts against Revolword.

Secondary characters include his wife Countess Wyndifera Ed-Wardhi, Countess Persifiya Tarfazi (Kaliphlin ambassador in Valholl), Growlfargh the werewolf, Ramesahk the mountain mummy, and Tahrisa (a Karinca merchant captain).

Wow! Great work here! Perhaps change the size of our names so they are´nt the same size as "life", "notes" etc. Right now it all blends togheter and it´s pretty hard seing where one sigfigs bio end and the other begin.

Yeah, some of the breaks are hard to pick out... I was trying to get three spaces between characters, but after indenting it doesn't seem to work. I considered making them bigger but it seems like it would add unnecessary length; which was why I tried the asterisks but they were too small... anyways I swapped those for these >, how does that work?
