Saw the mighty Tesni - one of the strongest warriors he'd ever met - fall to the giant she faced. Flashes of one of the battles he'd had in Dastan swept into his mind, unbidden. The fight against the U'Kin Party guests after U'Stus' murder, when half his team had been KOed by Wren's spiked drinks, and his last stand with Felton, And here he was now. One against five. His body ached and blood poured from the wounds sustained - Sky Piercer's spear had punctured him straight through his shield and heavy armour, and it hurt like Hel. But there was no need for a final stand here, as much as his blood sung of a heroic and noble sacrifice. He was a warrior, he did not retreat. A fighter to the end. But he must go, go to his friends, lead this pack of enemies to them and let battle be rejoined. Tarn runs down the stairs and drinks the Grand Potion contained in his axe.
