Is the purple color in the stage set (and the purple slopes in the magic set) the same color as the purple parts (2 x 2 round brick, drawer frames etc) in the fashion design set?

I need more of that color and its a hard one to get :)

Well, the stage set has two purple colors from the pics I can see. The darker of these is Medium Lilac (Bricklink's Dark Purple), the same color as the drawer frames in the fashion design studio. The lighter one is Medium Lavender, which is the color of the legs of the tables in the fashion design studio.

It's funny becaus I dislike all animals they presented in Friends BUT Turtle. I think she looks better than any other Friend-pet because her printing is not off like in dogs and previous cats (The mouths are too high). and the bird... The bird with only black eye printing is a big disapointment, because it have nice mold.

41007 and 41008 have been added to shop.LEGO.com, at least in the US. One of the pics of 41008 suggests that a) the ball in the set is indeed the classic soccer ball mold and b) there will be a new ice cream cone piece! Very awesome and I can imagine dozens of other uses for that element, especially if it shows up in more colors. The girls' swimsuits both look nice, and there seems to be a lot of play value in the pool set what with the shower, restroom, snack shack, slide, and hot tub. The pet salon set seems less exciting to me, but the girls have nice outfits and it's nice to see the Fabuland sign return.

Just the other day I was looking at an ice cream truck MOC and thinking how odd it is that LEGO has had the ice cream piece for so long, but no cone piece. Awesome news!

It makes me wonder something though. Remember how LEGO has been preaching about how they saved the company by cutting down on the number of elements produced? I wonder with all of the new pieces popping up recently if the number of elements is starting to swing back the other direction?

Did anyone go to the Lego Shop this week to get a free Friends set? I'm annoyed--the online store says you'll get Mia, but my store gave out the "Stephanie and Mailbox" set that's been out since last February. I already have that one, and Mia is the last of the five Friends my daughter doesn't have.

That really sucks. You should check any Toys"R"Us stores nearby. Some have the Skateboard polybag.

I've got two in the area (Maryland) and haven't seen them. I lived in Louisiana earlier this year and saw Mia at both ends of the state--maybe it's a regional distribution?

I don't think so. I believe that strategy of cutting down the number of elements produced referred to how many elements are in production in any given year, not how many the company is able to produce overall. And I, for one, don't really keep track of when elements go out of production, and it's only really obvious that a part's been discontinued (whether temporarily or permanently) if a different element is simultaneously put into production to take its place. So I wouldn't be surprised if the number of elements in production stays pretty consistent from year to year, or in the very least, only increases at a rate consistent with improvements in TLG's production capacity.

Does anyone know when the new small sets are due in the UK? I'd like to get Emma's karate class (41002) as a present for my wife who takes karate classes herself. I think they are on the US lego store website, but nothing in the UK yet.

Overall, they reveal a lot of things I hadn't realized about this set. For instance, the hot tub uses the new 6x6 round plate in Medium Azur as its base, and the diving board uses this rubber Technic element underneath so it has some "bounce" to it.

Overall it's a quite nice set, though I wish the Transparent Blue elements it uses for its little waterfalls were in fact Transparent Light Blue (which would fit better with the base color IMO).

That's actually a really neat and clever function. TLG really did an awesome job on this set!

Also, I reviewed the Jet Ski set! It's a bit disappointing.

Oh boy, 2013 is going to be a gooood year, Looks like my Friends collection is going to keep growing and growing, I need to get at least 10 of those Karate class sets!

I got that new Soccer set, and it's good! There has been an outpour of people complaining about video reviews of sets on YouTube, so if you don't like video reviews, mine are no better!

I would really recommend this set out of all the new Friends sets besides the Pool and maybe the Pet Salon. It's surprisingly good and it fits in any LEGO city!

These three sets do sound very promising!

I hope that the school will have a decent size - let's say at least two rooms. A soccer place or something like this would be really cool, too.

I wonder whether the Dolphin Cruiser will be only some sort of private yacht or a real pleasure cruiser.

I was lucky enough to be given 41007 Heartlake Pet Salon and 41008 Heartlake City Pool the other day.

Now I'm wrestling with my conscience as to whether or not I have time to turn one into a decent review, and as a result I haven't dared open them...

They look good, and I'm excited about them, and I believe Ru picked them up from our local LEGO Store, so they might be seen in other LEGO stores now too.
