Heroica RPG- Quest # 47: The Joust

Recommended Posts

OOC: Stop the mob! Just cos Sarge relishes the battle. And I feel that Sarge needs to get a more worthy weapon....... Basically unless sarge is bought out by Sorrow or Nagure and/or can provide him a good weapon... The quest will go on!

Sarge salutes the Fantome. "You owe me alot, but I am merciful... It's not that I just want to beat the crap out of them  " Sarge draws his sword, and stands his ground towards the mob. "Tyrannical ruler you may be... But you were in my squad, and a Sargent always looks after his squad..... Oh and you still owe me my cutlass from the charis guard!" He turns to the oncoming crowd "You wanna piece of me?" He asks the mob.

Sarge, these people have never done anything to you. All they're doing is trying to give their families a better life. Isay we hand the Fantome over.

Sarge, these people have never done anything to you. All they're doing is trying to give their families a better life. Isay we hand the Fantome over.

Sarge ponders it for a moment then goes "Nah, battles give us more experience...... And they HAVE done stuff to me. I was in the Charis guard AGES ago. After Lion knights. Anyway. I remember this lot as kids... I may have fathered a few of em'. But a battle is a battle.. Fun. Wait a second?" He lifts the fantome's helmet then thinks for a second "Hmmm. Was he or was he not in my squad when I was in the Charis guard?" Sarge goes into an old man moment. "Aha! I have it!" Sorrow and nagure wait expectantly "Sorry, what were we talking about again?"

OOC: Stats before rp my friend! I liek moar experience.... and a better weapon which we might find on the rioters!

"Sarge, seriously. Lay off the booze."

I hold up my hand to stop the mob. Seeing their favorite jouster command them to do something made them halt immediately. Though my hood conceals it, a wicked grin tears it's way though my face. i had let evil slip through my grip far too many times. First, Eryn scarred my father... Next, that blueskinned child kidnapper... and finally, the oppressor of an entire city. The Fantome Croise. The Fantome was currently beaten at my feet, bawling and begging for mercy.

"Irony truly is delicious, Fantome, my friend. I seem to recall that I was begging mercy from you last time. Amazing how quickly things change.

Now, I will not kill you."

The mob sends me dozens of angry glances, and the Fantome's eyes light up.

"But that is not to say I will not make you undergo an equivalent, or something far worse. I seem to recall your motivations beginning with you insulting a sick old man and immediately feeling sorry. Now, you will receive the retributions of your actions."

With that, I grab Fantome by the head, turn him around, and slammed the hilt of my fanblade into a nerve cluster on the base of his neck with all of my might. The fantome crumples to the ground in shock. I watch as the pitiful men attempts to move. He can hardly budge.

"I have just paralyzed you from the neck down. Permanently. Enjoy never being able to move again, Fantome."

Hope you don't mind this, Capn.

Sarge does the average thing, and loots the Fantome's body clean of valuables!

The fantome says something which sparks a memory in Sarge's old mind. "I remember! You were the stable boy... hehe Screw you."

OOC: Hope this is ok

The Fantome crumbles to the ground in tears. The mob continues to advance, but shouting is heard." Fraternity! Everyone move to the side." A protective circle is formed around the heroes and the Fantome.

"Disperse! Ve vill gif him a fair tri-al. Heroes, I am Trent, part of the Fraternity. Which I am sure you heard about. Johnothan wants to speak with you." The guards escort you and Fantome to the church.

"Ahaha,Sorrow, excellent work! We can not thank you enough. But before you leave, we need you to help us to decide who is in charge of the city. All the Croise forces have surrendered. And we plan to have this Fantome suffer. The people demand to vote on whether to let him live or execute him. You 3 will decide, he is your prisoner after all. But be warned, your vote can decide your popularity with the Charis people. You can talk to who ever before the decision."

I go over and address the mob, my foot inches away from the sobbing Fantome's face.

"Death is too good for this man. Let's lock up in a cell and leave him to suffer, aye? Nothing but his own self-contemplation to keep him company, to remind him how much of a terrible person he is.

...And force-feed him every few days, I guess."

Agreed. We are not executioners, but this man deserves to pay for what he has done. Lock him up.

"Before we lock him up..." Sarge whispers to sorrow and nagure "Raid all of their vaults! And that old tower that I heard about." Sarge then says to the charis people "Yeah, then lock him up."

"Oh shut up! We are not looting anything from these people. The Fantome probably spent all his money on worthless Ether cores anyway."

The townspeople are quiet disappointed that he wouldn't be decapitated. But they respect your decision and agree being locked up in the tower, like so many of them had, seems like a reasonable punishment.

"This is a historic day in our attempts to drive the Croise's from Charis. Thank you. You each get 100 gold and a level of experience."

So, after Quest 37, the heroes lost, and the lives of other brave rebels, laying siege to the Fantome in his tower.

In 47, they came back, and humbled many of the Fantome's henchmen.

And every Croise in the city, after seeing their lord paralyzed and locked up by hundreds of angry people, surrendered. They signed a treaty, half would be held in the tower with the Fantome, and the rest would be ransomed.

"The money and spare armor will equip are new guard force."

Thank you all for playing! If your stats are okay, you can say goodbye, and go back to the hall.

I go over to the weeping Fantome Croise, who is currently being dragged away by some guards. His legs lay limp, since, well, he can't move them.

bandit5.png

"Vyou! Vyou have ruined me! You despicable, despicable, creature! Vis is your fault! :cry2: "

"Perhaps you should have thought of this, Fantome. You can't expect an entire city to bow to your will without a little resistance.

Besides, Fantome, maybe a few decades of self contemplation will help you. As cliched as this may sound, we are not that different. Our guilt follows us wherever we go. But unlike you, I learned to tame it a bit. You let yours run wild. You let it oppress cities, kill innocents, ruin lives.

Perhaps the next 30 years or so will help you forgive yourself."

With that, I wave good-bye to the people of Charis, and motion to the party to follow me to the boat.

Quest over, I suppose!
