Toys R Us tax

Recommended Posts

If you think about it from a business perspecive, these things are worth exactly what people are willing to pay. If LEGO has MSRP of $24.99 and Toys R Us can sell it for $34.99, of course they will. That is why they are still in business - becase they make sure to have profit. They make sure prices in the stores can cover employees, sales, advertising, and still put money in the bank.

I do shop at Toys R Us. Do I like that they have prices that are over (sometimes significantly) MSRP? Of course I don't. That's why I only shop there on sales and I only buy things that end up under MSRP after the sale. It's annoying that it could take me an hour to find a decent deal since I have to check MSRP on every set I'm thinking of buying, and do all the math and stuff. However, it still feels good to get something under MSRP on the sale.

It is a free market. Toy r Us can charge what they want. You are free to buy elsewhere if you are not happy with the prices Toys r Us charges.

 Exactly! I never buy anything from TRU that isn't on sale. It's just not worth it. In fact, I choose not to buy any LEGO that isn't on sale. My choice.
