Krisbach007 Posted June 24, 2020 I have found these 2 bricks together in my attic...probably from the 80's as thats the era i was born in... The round one in the back, i think is to turn on the lights of a fire- or police car, so i thought the other one would be a battery pack as it is far heavier then a regular brick. But i don't seem to get it to open...what are you're thoughts? I figured they had something to do with Bionicle, But just could not find them on Bricklink. It was obvious there were several versions too. Man, that piece takes me back to my old Sampsonite days. As I recall, that was a trailer hitch for an old fire engine kit I once had. I know there are colour charts and such, but comparing to them doesn't really work for some colours, as you can't be sure your monitor is displaying the colours correctly. I have no idea about the sets which these parts come from so no help there, though most I can identify by comparing them to other parts which I know the colour for certain. Taking a picture with camera flash on (point and shoot or SLR flash will generally yield sufficient results) and a solid white, grey or black background or using direct sunlight as the lighting source can help us as these light sources will be close to 5000K color temperature lighting. I have a color calibrated monitor which will help further but you're right unless the photographer takes the necessary steps to ensure color accuracy the results can vary widely. I'll do some sorting and see which ones I can figure out by myself and then try to take a good photo of the rest. I don't have any other camera besides a phone, but sunlight should be doable. Peppermint_M Posted August 8, 2020 A good LED or White Light is also an excellent way to check colours. When I am building, the space is currently lit with neon-tubes with a more yellow light (I will fix that eventually) so I use the phone flash assistive light feature (Or Flashlight/torch) on certain bricks.
