'It should come as no surprise then that the world’s first dedicated LEGO store was opened not in Denmark, but in Sydney. Opening around 1984 and closing in the early 90′s, the Birkenhead Point LEGO Centre was for its short life the first and only LEGO dedicated store experience in the world.' - courtesy of TolToys website

In the store was a large sculpture of an iconic Australian car, the FJ Holden from 1957. I never managed to get to this store, but I found the sculpture hidden away in the National Motor Museum in Birdwood South Australia. I took a stack of photo's, came home and started reverse engineering the model. After about 3 months of work this is the final (well for now) version.

To get more info on the original model, head over here - TolToys There is also a copy of the original

for the store showing the styling of Lego in the 1980's.

I know very little about anything Australia, but this is a sweet looking car/Lego creation. Very good work! Keep it up!

When I saw the thread subject I thought this would be a perfect match for that 50's Australian St MOC... but it turns out the scale is a little off ;)

That's an epic model of an iconic car. Great stuff.
