Jacob C. Posted October 28, 2006 Here's a cog (Medieval cargo ship), I recently built: I call it a "Grand Cog" because its slightly larger, with three sails instead of one. Another pic: http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/2958/c8dj5.jpg In the cargo hold: http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/7171/i1aq3.jpg Gold and other valuables are stored in the front compartment... http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/3970/i6yv0.jpg ...with a guard to protect it: http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/8543/c13pk9.jpg Here's a pic of the sail design I used: http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/9972/sailie4.png I printed it off on normal printing paper and it came out looking nice. I got the idea for the sail design from this pic I found on the web: http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/5764/s5yv7.jpg Brickshelf Gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=212291
WesternOutlaw Posted October 28, 2006 Very nice Jacob. First, I love the colors - nice combination. I like the overall look of the ship which definately does not have the pirate-look,but rather Medieval. I'm most impressed with the fact that you did not use standard pirate theme hull pieces so often used in Lego ship MOCs. The result you achieved by just using standard bricks is quite impressive. It has a very good shape and design. I love the use of the old griffin shields making the ship definately Classic castle (nice touch ;-) ). The center mast is simple, yet very effective for a ship of this time frame. And lastly, you topped it off with some beutifully designed sales in both color and pattern. It blends in nicely with the ship colors. Overall, this is a terrific ship. I'd love to see it loaded with figs ready to attack that castle across the sea. Very nice job! Bonaparte Posted October 28, 2006 A very beautiful medieval ship. The sails look good and I like the color combinations. The 2 castle's give the ship a medieval touch. Very original design!
El Bucanero Posted November 11, 2006 Ahhh now this is what you call an beuatiful medieval ship, and the brick-built hull looks very good! Beautiful colourscheme and I love the look of the sails. Great work! The 2 castle's give the ship a medieval touch. As far as I am aware, not only medieval have castles, also sailing ships (from the age of sail) have a front castle and a stern castle.... I'm happy to see you discovered this beautiful ship Mr. Tiber. It seems a bit unfair that it was getting so little feedback.
