UCS Falcon replica

@Aeroeza

So when the on-screen illusion is not consistent I choose canon - and no off-screen "fact" can help the inconsistencies on-screen - . Canon is not the "right" answer but there is no right answer - no matter what measurement you believe the Falcon to have the Wookie will indeed get squashed in several of the morphing Falcon shots

Conversely, with the Executor I'm more inclined to 'believe' the off-screen fact (17,6km), because what is on-screen is much more consistent and supports fact more uniformly.

Oh, and MY conclusion is much better than yours

I have a conclusion which surpasses yours and I don't think can be ruled out.

Ever seen Flight of the Navigator?

Yeah, that! Now who has the better conclusion

Watch out, we got some nerds over here...

Hey together,

after recieving the radio handles it´s time for an update. It´s the frustrating "My football team is going to loose" update.

Please wish us a good second halftime or I will destroy the falcon.......

Hertha - Bayern München?

Jedenfalls, your project is a real challenge. I would try this too, with buying all the pieces etc... if there weren't as many bricks

Good luck!

Minifig rule No. 563722

Don´t call the Falcon a trash can.

Right now I got a boring discussion, who is the real owner of the ship.

They should focus on cleaning those dirty plates instead - unless you want them that way - they certainly look "banged up"

Anyway you can give prices in US dollars?

The almighty Google can do currency conversions! :classic: Just google "430 euros to USD" and you'll get $570.35.

it´s time for an update.

*snip*

It's starting to look really nice BobBong1895, and thanks for the regular updates

It will be interesting to see what the eventual cost is compared to the average Ebay second-hand rate (approx £750-£800). I've been inspired by this thread to 'Bricklink' the UCS Death Star II (10143) and placed my first order last night! I've wanted one for a while, but at £500+ for a MISB version I couldn't really justify it. It doesn't seem to have any rare parts (unlike the Falcon) so it should be fairy cheap to build....!

Anyway, keep up the good work, it will look amazing when you've finished it :classic:

Time for an update.

Next week I will do the last BL Orders to finish the project this month.

Falcon021.jpg

I decided to change the hard to get 1x4 slopes versus 1x3 ones. I think it doesn´t disturb the look.

aKeep up the good work. So how much would t cost in US $ to make it? I may try to make it, if the price is right.

I could assume you would be able to manage $500-600, perhaps a bit less, as the majority of cheaper parts are located in the US, which means no customs and cheaper postage for you :cry_sad: The exact price though, depends on how you personally source your cheapest parts.

Hey Folks,

yesterday I did the last BL Order.

After all, the price I paid is round about 680€, which is something about 970 USD.

There is my own 1500 piece stock included and all shipping costs and so on.

I will do a detailed summary during the next days.

regards

Klaus
