Most wanted bricks for next LDD update

Recommended Posts

I wish it had the old windows with the lip on them.

There might be hope. The old 1x2x2 with the lip is in there, under the number 73594.

I don't know whether anyone has already said these pieces but as a SoNE player myself, :vader::yoda: the following printed pieces would be a godsend to all Star Wars LDDers:

Stormtrooper helmet print (x130px6)

Stormtrooper armour print (973pskc01) and

Rebel Trooper jacket print (973pb453c01)

They should have been added to the print menu, especially the Stormtrooper helmet print, ages ago.

While the latest update added a great deal of the parts I wanted, there are still some missing that would be very helpful to have.

-All the Friends Minidoll parts (not going to list all of them since they're probably already mentioned in the topic)

-97489—Spongebob's cape from one set, useful since it's designed to fit between Spongebob's torso and "head", meaning it should also fit between a torso and long hair better than other capes.

-18386—Lord Business' legs, one of the few Lego Movie parts not added in the latest update.

-16494—Lord Business' cape, similar to the Spongebob one and another Lego Movie part omitted from the latest update.

-15357 and 15359—The new HF beast head segments, some of the only new HF parts left out of the latest update.

-16360—The minifig torso with dual-colored arms from the Simpsons theme. This part would be massively useful to have, whether it's a new part or just a new recolorable surface on the standard torso.

-16709—Same deal as previous, but with the short legs. So far this and the above have only shown up in the Simpsons theme but I imagine they're only going to get more common from here on out. These short legs in particular would not surprise me if they appear in the Hobbit theme later this year, perhaps finally giving the titular hobbit bare feet.

Most of the 2014 Technic parts are in the 1392 brick version, but the 15457 Gear Worm 3M is missing. I need it for set 42023. Thanks!

Thank you Superkalle, I should have been more careful before posting  I downloaded the instructions several weeks ago, but I haven't checked the content yet. Now I can start the building.

Absolutely no problem about posting. :classic:

And it's a valid question, because the 15457 is an unusual part in that it was introduced and cancelled within months. It's going to be a rare piece in the future I think.

I'm on a BIONICLE kick and I'd appreciate some of the head pieces.. even if there are no masks to go with them. They're still useful for building on their own.

More than new pieces, I would really appreciate these three things:

  • New decals for minifigure parts, including chests (back/front), heads (b/f), legs, helmets (anybody said Star Wars helmets decals?)
  • A tool which "fits" relevant decals together, so that if I put the "kilt" chest decal, it offers me a Yes/No chance to automatically apply the corresponding leg and back chest decal (it's frustrating to go through all the belts, legs, and backs until you find the correct one)
  • Bigger decal interface, as sometimes it's impossible to understand which decal I'm looking at.

Other than this, of course new bricks are always appreciated, but I'd love to put together nice minifigures most of all...

There are actually separate topics for new decorations and features if you're interested:

I'm preparing an updated "most wanted" list to send to the LDD Team. So I ask you all to re-post your most-wanted lists, sorted in order of importance, so the most important brick on top and so on.

NOTE: (important)

  • The bricks you wish for can be new or old (legacy). Note however that brand new bricks (i.e. from the 2015 wave of sets) normally is added to LDD anyway, so you don't need to wish for those.
  • If you feel a certain decoration, or adding flex to a part, or an updated LDD Palette or something else is most important, then put it in the list.
  • Bricks that are more common (i.e. exist in more sets) have higher likelihood of getting into LDD then really odd/rare parts.
  • Don't wish for new features in LDD - this list is only for things that can be added in a new brickset (bricks, flex, multi-coloring, decorations etc).
  • And as always - I have no idea which bricks (if any) will be added to a next brick update. This is only our wish-list as fans/users.

"Re-post your most wanted lists", eh? Alright, here we go! Here's my list from before, updated to include sets I've indexed since then but also cut down to only the most-wanted (and, even then, that's a whopping 75!). If that's still too much, I'll go through this and pick out only the most-most-wanted for a shorter list.

As before, this is listed in order of how many sets I've contributed to the Official LEGO Sets made in LDD topic does this particular brick appear. Where possible, I use brick IDs and names from LEGO Customer Services (obtained through Brickset), and if not possible, then I link the brick ID to either Bricklink or Rebrickable and use their names, which may not be accurate to LEGO's internal database.

Monorail tracks, motor, boogies, large (6x6x10) stanchion, and old 9v battery box. 5 sets (3 regular and 2 expansions) can't be added to LDD set thread as complete because of these.
