Very dissapointed we only got about 2-3 LOTR parts in the new update.

Ummm... that's already there. Design ID is 90397. Plug that into the search box in LDD Extended mode and the part should come up.

It seems the number for this one (array of decorative packed together parts) is 93081..

but anyway, this: 93081c.jpg

That's already on LDD (part number 95829).

Anyway, here are some Hero Factory parts I'd like to see:

87802

87818

98587

98588

98589

98592

98593

98594

98596

98597

98604

There are more missing, of course, but these are the ones I want the most (most of them being extremely important parts from the summer 2012 sets).

Huh, my mistake. No idea how I even ended up looking at a post so old...

Not sure if this should go in here or in the bugs thread, but it annoys me greatly that the piece that should be the short-billed cap (86035, 4485b on BL) instead uses the same model as the older long-billed cap (4485). Would definitely like to get that fixed as soon as possible.

I'd like to see these new Lego Power Functions motors that came with the 9398 4x4 Crawler set (and which will be sold individually by The Lego Group starting in March 2013):

99499c01 "Electric, Motor 9V Power Functions L with Dark Bluish Gray Bottom" and 99498c01 "Electric, Motor 9V Power Functions Servo with Dark Bluish Gray Bottom":

In version 4.1.8 the shield box 2578 was included as the hinge variant (http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=2578b).

It was later changed, so that in 4.3.5 we now have the towball variant (http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=2578a).

I can't remember the exact time the change was made, but it must have been sometime in 2012, either at the January or the September update.

Thus older LXF files created with the hinge variant will no longer load this piece, as the 'new' 2578 won't fit with the hinge plates like 3938.

It might be a bit tricky that two distinct parts share the same number (and generally part 2578 wasn't used in that much sets in either version), however in order to being able building the street sweeper 6645 I want the old hinge variant back. But don't remove the towball variant, include them both, perhaps with new and distinct part numbers like 25781 and 25782 which are according to bricklink still free to use.

Actually, if I remember correctly, the version initially in LDD was actually neither of the two, but some kind of odd hybrid with two hinge brackets (should be three as can be seen on the BL pics). So a decision was made to update it to the most recent (and most commonly used) version, which is the one with the tow-ball.

Both physical versions had the same DesignID, i.e. it's one of those rare cases where TLG decided to re-use the same DesignID-number even though the brick is quite clearly physically different. You can see this on the real bricks too, becuase both version have 2578 stamped. Like you suggests, the solution could be to introduce a virtual DesignID in LDD. But to be honest, I'm not sure if/when that will happen, since the hinge variant was only used in one set back in 1991 and thus is quite low on the prio-list.

I was afraid the answer was sort of this. But because the hinge variant already has existed, I hoped it wouldn't be too hard for TLG to reintegrate it once more. I mean, they already had this part integrated, so it can't be too much work to offer it again, since they don't have to construct completely new stuff.

However, I totally agree that a part needed in only one single set more than 20 years ago (6645) won't have highest prio either. But as the title of this thread isn't "What is the most important and likely parts to come with the next LDD update", but rather "Most wanted bricks..." I decided to request it here nonetheless.

Actually there are some other old parts I sorely miss, such as

None of these parts was used in sets of the recent years and almost every part was discontinued more than 10 years ago. Thus it becomes harder and harder to get any of these bricks in 'real life'. Hence it is desirable to have those old bricks as virtual LDD ones at least. May the prio be as low as it may be, hope dies last.

Get in line, I'm still waiting the part 4737, still present in LDD 3!

Same destiny for the window 4741, that fortunately can be easily replaced with parts 4447 and... mmm... the opposite one!

It seems the destiny for removed parts is not so bright!

Has someone tried to convince TLG to make a paid version of LDD? I'm quite willing to pay some 20 bucks if I get all the old parts and decorations. It still would be cheaper than crawling ebay for the real bricks.

Yes :classic:

And you did right :classic:

The problem with the two versions of the 2578 is that a virtual ID needs to be introduced, and at the moment LDD is based 100% on the internal databases at TLG which only has one.

On a side note, I can mention that I keep a log of all wanted bricks from this topic, and send it to TLG once in a while. So they are definitely aware of what we fans are wishing for, and add as many as they can.

Yepp, Calabar is first in line

Yes :classic:

And? Don't they want our money? I mean, if I ran a business and offered stuff for free and someone suggested to give me money for it, I guess I knew what to do. So what hinders TLG to offer a LDD Premium?

Maybe they should start a pay-per-brick campaign on kickstarter: LDD gets part 4737 back if Calabar (or others too) collect some 10000 crunchy fish fingers or whatever currency they use up in Denmark.

Why not add some candy and chocolate and jellies and cookies when sending them the log? Maybe they are bribable :innocent2: .

No, seriously, please do priorize

Calabar requested these parts almost a year ago; and if I recall it correctly, they are the only ones missing to complete Fort Legoredo (6769 / 6762). And as they are needed for Forbidden Island (6270), Eldorado Fortress (6276) and Rock Island Refuge (6273) as well, I guess a lot of LDD pirates would be very happy to finally have them available.

Where to start.. where to start..

Really, I'd like the addition of a few MARVEL Super Heroes parts, which LDD seems to be lacking.

I'd also like a few other minifigure parts and accessories.

And maybe some Hero Factory parts, too.

I suppose that is it. I didn't want the list to be too lengthy and I'm sure plenty of these have already been requested prior to this post.
