The Top 5 Minifigures of 2011?

Recommended Posts

Since 2011 has come to an end, it's time to review the top 5 minifigures released in 2011. Just please don't post any CMFs (we all know those are the best  ) and none from 2012-made sets that were released early in 2011 (no Super Heores, Friends, Forest Police, ect). Also, the minifigure can be a Car from the "Cars" sets.

My top 5 minifigures are (not in any order):

Jack Sparrow- This minifigure looks almost exactly like Jack Sparrow from the movies! LEGO really nailed this one on detail!

Helena Tova Skvalling- From PQ, this minifigure is amazing. She one of the most detailed non-licensed minifigures. I love her hair (new color of an old style) and her face (less generic then the normal female non-licensed minifigures). Her torso is very cool looking, too.

Nya- This female ninja looks like she can kick some butt! Her face is 2 sided, and one side can be commonly used in a city, and the other can be used in a ninja set up. Her torso and pants are pretty detailed, too.

Mermaid Syrena- This is one licensed minifigure that looks a lot like it's movie counterpart! Her hair is lovely, and I love her mermaid fin.

Business Man- This guy works great as a city civilian! His face is unique in my book, and his business torso is very useable.

Mods, if there is already a topic on this, please lock this.

I would say Nya for sure is one of the top minifigures. There is something wildly cool about a female ninja that can kick butt. Kill Bill anyone?

I would say the painted horse from Mill Village Raid. While not a true minifigure, it is a new coloring that can be useful. Sure, it has blinders so it can basically only be used as a carriage horse, but there are a lot of MOCs/situations that would require a nice carriage.

Anubis guard from PQ. Very stylish and unique headmold. Plus the coloring is very dark.

Seso from PoP. We don't get a ton of other skin tones, so he was most welcome (I still don't have one yet). There is something oddly cool about this figure to me. I don't know why. He would work well with pirates or Castle.

Neville Longbottom from HP. We definitely needed an updated version of him. He became much cooler and more confident in the last movie and the minifigure should portray that (and it does).

These certainly aren't everyone's favorites and probably no one will like them like I do actually. But these are the ones that had a bigger impact on me for some reason. I can't wait to see some other suggestions.

Boba Fett, Zolm, Elizabeth Swann, Barbossa, Jake Raines, not specifically in that order.

I just came out of my dark ages at the beginning of 2011, so please forgive me if some of these are from 2010;

Anubis Guard - Sadly, I don't own any of these yet.

Poseidon - It is a little annoying that this guy is like 300 shades of gold, but he's still pretty cool.

Hammerhead and Manta Warrior - The Atlantis theme is full of great baddies, these are my two faves.

The King from King's Castle - The only thing I don't like about him is the fact that his crown doesn't stay on too well.

All of the human soldiers from Alien Conquest I like a lot, because of the new blue color and they make good space soldiers.

Anubis guards from Pharaohs Quest.

Anubis Guards are definitely cool.

I also like the Dragon Knight from the Escape from Dragon's prison set.

Finally, PotC had a lot of great minifigs - Jack Sparrow, Barbossa and even Will Turner look ok. Davey Jones also looks great (although I don't have the set he comes in). Being a sucker for zombies, I also like the Quartermaster from the QAR.

Great topic! My picks would be Nya from Ninjago, Anubis gaurd from PQ, crab warrior from Atlantis, the mermaids from POTC (i can't pick one over the other! ) and the maiden from the Mill Village Raid. All stunning, much needed and imaginative figs.

Since I mainly collect Pirates and Clone Wars sets my choices come from there. I'm all into licensed themes and only have a fev newer classics. So here's my pick:

from Clone Wars I'd pick Shaak Ti and Luminara Unduli - The only thing better than a cool jedi character is a cool female jedi character! And yes I'm one of those who like the Clone Wars style!

from POTC I'd pick Barbossa (any version) and Bootstrap Bill though it's really hard to make a choice with such beauties as Jack, Davy Jones, Hadras and others.

I do agree that Nya and Anubis gaurd come very close after these, but I don't have any of those ... In general 2011 was very rich with minifigures and my wallet already hurts when I think about this years minifigs - and they're mostly licensed ...

My choices would be:

1. Nya. As others have said, it is a really, really beautiful figure, and she makes Ninjago less of a boy-oriented theme.

2. Boostrap Bill from PotC. That figure is one of the most accurate I have seen yet.

3. Alien Pilot.

4. Reporter.

5. Asajj Ventress.
