Huh.. you used aquarium rock for ballast instead of lego plates.. interesting.

Yours is the kind of table I want to have one day.

I really like your layout. Usually what I see happening is that layouts will begin with basic city sets and slowly get larger with the modular buildings which means there is a visual disconnect between the two types of buildings. Yours runs a great middle ground where super details bits work well next to simpler bits.

Thanks for the replay

Indeed, for the ballast I use gravel

on pictures of lego train boxes lego are also used gravel

unfortunately in blue

for me it is otherwise too expensive to operate in plates

Therefore, this choice

What kind of lighting do you use? Are you relying on LEGO PowerFunctions lights, or are they LED's you have assembled yourself?

They are no LEDs from the power function

the last placed LEDs are

high density LEDs, recovered from christmas lights

fit perfectly into the lego

Wow, very nice. I'm always a fan of adding lights and I like the change of color for the street lights.

Something else

Meanwhile, 4 old wagons of the Belgian type Eaos will be
Transformed ... they are too wide to be used on the
Layout 9 wide is too much, hapering everywhere .....

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=523267..
They still date from 2013 ....

One has now been transformed into 7 studs

Nice! I've been following your great layout since I was a child. It always inspired me to make my own. Seeing you redoing the entire thing must be such a good challenge. Keep up the good work

Wow, this is amazing. Just looking at the transformation from this page is wonderful. Very interesting & a neat idea to use that gravel. The more I see LED's, the more I want to use them too.
