Mister Phes Posted July 28, 2005 Yes!!! I have finally got the first one. Does anyone else have one? Apparently there's a whole series but I've only ever seen the first one on websites like Brickshelf and Brickset. In the 1991 German LEGO catalog there's some small images of the covers of the other comics, but apart from this I've never seen anything else about them. :/
languages Posted July 28, 2005 I had them all but I think we sold them about 3 years ago.............
Mister Phes Posted July 28, 2005 How many were there in total?
Captain Roger Posted July 29, 2005 i have read the german version of the comic which is in brickset and i think the drawings are really good, but i don't like the argument so much
Dreamweb Posted August 3, 2005 It's a nice thing for Lego Pirates' fans to read and a valuable source of minifig's names, however the story isn't that exciting and one readnig was enough for me (I'm talking about the first comic book, don't know anything about the others). Mister Phes Posted August 3, 2005 Yes, the story in the first comic isn't particular exciting although I did think it was better than the stories in the Pirates Lady Bird book series. Nice avatar Dreamweb!
Dreamweb Posted August 3, 2005 Nice avatar Dreamweb! Thanks. I'm stiil not sure if they are negotiating something or what. Just looked good to me :)
Mister Phes Posted August 4, 2005 I have more questions about your avatar. How bout we put the posts about your avatar into a new thread and discuss it over there?
Dreamweb Posted August 11, 2005 That's fine with me but is the avatar worth it? :) It took me 2 minutes to take this photo just after I finished taking the pictures of the Barracuda's Eye. I even didn't like it at first :) Perhaps a thread about user's avatars in general is a better idea?
Mister Phes Posted August 11, 2005 Yes, you're absolutely right. A thread concerning Pirate avatars that is! Anyways, where is Languages? He been online lately? I'm still waiting for him to answer my question I posted earlier in this thread.
Scouty Posted September 25, 2006 I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, I looked and didn't find any. But, has anybody seen this pirate comic? I read it and enjoyed it quite a bit. I can't get an image up but I provided below a link. From the Peeron library: http://peeron.com/scans/6255-1/ what do you think of it?
Mister Phes Posted September 25, 2006 Yes... Yes... This is old news... Well to me anyway because I discovered it years ago when it was first on Brickshelf. Or was that Lugnet? I forget where it used to be hosted. Anyways... I actually own the real thing now. Does anyone else? And I think I've already created a thread about it so maybe the these two can be merged at some point.

And I think I've already created a thread about it so maybe the these two can be merged at some point. I've always wanted to get this again (since mine disintegrated...) If you ever see a bargain Phes ;-) God Bless, Nathan
Mister Phes Posted September 25, 2006 I've only ever seen one of these on eBay in my postage affordability range, so I made sure I got it.
El Bucanero Posted September 25, 2006 Why do you want to have the comic if you can read it on internet, it doesn't is an actual set, with parts, except for a fig and a map...
Captain Roger Posted September 25, 2006 I have read it in german a year ago(i don't understand german but is easy to understand the comic because the drawings) the drawings are good but the argument is simple and bad
Mister Phes Posted September 26, 2006 Captain Roger, what do you mean by "the argument is simple and bad"? Which arguement are you referring to?
Captain Roger Posted September 26, 2006 hum...sorry...arguement couldn't be the correct word...i am referring to the story of the lego pirate comic...
Mister Phes Posted September 26, 2006 What's a similiar English word? Or what is the word in Spanish? We can attempt to translate it!
Captain Roger Posted September 26, 2006 well...the story of a comic, movie, or book, in spanish is called "argumento"...I had a mistake because i forgot "arguement" in english has a different meaning
Mister Phes Posted September 26, 2006 Yes, "argumento" does directly translate to "arguement" but obviously the definitions are different. You mean the plot (i.e. the storyline) was bad?
Captain Roger Posted September 26, 2006 yes...it was bad
El Bucanero Posted September 26, 2006 The characters are bad, and the plot is vad as well, the captain redbeard is a bit of an idiot and broadside is a fancy guy who always sits on a throne and let others do his tasks, while he should be battling pirates to protect his coast... Norro Posted September 26, 2006 Why do you want to have the comic if you can read it on internet, it doesn't is an actual set, with parts, except for a fig and a map... I always liked it... sentiment....and the story is not that bad, it's for kids! God Bless, Nathan
Mister Phes Posted September 26, 2006 The characters are bad, and the plot is vad as well, the captain redbeard is a bit of an idiot and broadside is a fancy guy who always sits on a throne and let others do his tasks, while he should be battling pirates to protect his coast... He's a governor... A politician... They are not millitary men nor warriors... They get their soldiers to do all the gung ho stuff for them. So the book seems to be on the mark there.
