AJW Posted October 18, 2011 Here's my latest project, wasn't sure if it was best to post it here or the Train Tech forum: Read about the real thing here.
Big Cam Posted October 18, 2011 That looks great, is there more to it if you zoom out? I feel like there is an entire subway behind it.
AJW Posted October 18, 2011 Thanks Cam! Sadly it's only a thin veneer, one brick deep at the moment. But if you take a look at my Flickr pages you can see a Lego rendition of the underground platforms with a tube train departing.
slovakiasteph Posted October 18, 2011 WWII time period? That's when that poster was used, right? I can't comment on the authenticity as I've never been to London, but I like the clean lines of the build. The upside-down fences are a nice touch.
AJW Posted October 18, 2011 Very well spotted Steph! Indeed this scene is set during the second world war, but as the poster was never used publicly you get bonus points for observation.
jonwil Posted October 18, 2011 What hat is that on the guy in the picture?

lightningtiger Posted October 19, 2011 Totally AWESOME 'AJW' , the detail even beats my work to a punch.....is there an interior ? Plus are you planning a pub and a Woolworth store....now that would be mind blowing.....some Anderson shelters too ! Keep going and Brick On 'AJW' ! streifen Posted October 19, 2011 The brickwall above the train station is excellent! change the minifig and the poster and you are back to modern life!!
Pandora Posted October 19, 2011 This is great! You've really managed to faithfully recreate this particular tube station, especially the iconic architecture, and it looks fabulous. I've seen so many WW2 scenes like this in museums, but it's especially nice to see one in LEGO. The picture in your signature intrigued me, and I found a whole treasure trove of wonderful tube-related constructions on your flickr stream, including some that remind me of my own local tube station. Beautiful work, thank you for sharing.
AJW Posted October 19, 2011 Thanks for your kind words Pandora! What's the name of your local tube station. Is it a design classic?
HighFlyer Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) I have been to this tube station before; you've captured the detail and atmosphere very well. Edited October 19, 2011 by HighFlyer
AJW Posted October 19, 2011 Thanks HighFlyer! It certainly is one of the more charismatic stations on the network isn't it?
Hellingly Posted October 19, 2011 That's brilliant! I love the sign and the posters.
