More than this distance is not possible without extra counterweight.  In this condition the rear outriggers are barely touching tne ground

@Chipstertrain, its to far away for me.

A new driven steeringAxle for an upcoming 6x4/4 chassis. The suspension travel is only roundabout a half stud, but the Frame could be very low. if it works good enough i will make later an .IO and put it in the axle collection thread.

Very interesting front axle! I see the suspension uses only up and down movement sliding down on that axle. Does it have any side movement when being compressed?

Very interesting concept

It looks like you were impressed by Dubonnet suspension system...

Similar principle to this

Used in this perfect car

It has similar principle of work...

Undriven Steering axle. Steering Rack is mounted to the frame. so the Servo doesnt affect the suspension.

The Mechanical Part seems to be done. Gear reduction is 16/20-12/20-20/28 = C+ XL Motor 2.917:1 wheel

This results in nearly the same Rpm with only a little bit less Torque compared to a PF XL 18,9 N/cm zu 20,3 N/cm

Wheelbase seems right in the stripped version and to short on the version with the finishing. But again, just astonishing work. The front resembles the original Scania so well. :-)

How many gears can you use between motor and gear rack not to have slack and to make pf servo return gear rack to zero position?

Two gear jumps and two universal joints, but the first gearrack is directly powered without slack.

Did you ever try to power gear rack through 4 gears or is it nonsense even to try?

On the last vid i had three gears between servo and rack and there was a noticable play.

I have significant play with 4 gears...so I'll have to think about something else but have only 4 studs height including ball joints from Unimog

Drive axle goes below it, so I have lowered drive axle and steering axle is two studs above drive axle to enable usage of just 2 gears on steering. This solution has acceptable amount of play.

As minimalist I would suggest simplest version without aero adds like your M.A.N. hooklift truck
