The simpliest one is 1 stud thick, round and 2 studs long when you dont need forced trailer steering.

Can you post some pictures?

Thank for sharing @efferman. I would love to try this XL actuator myself, but is a rather expensive part to have 3D printed. Anybody in the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany that can create a small batch at a reasonable price, say 50 Euros?

Back to basics with a smaller height.

Works, but needs a lot of power in the first moments.

That is relatively fast, but when I compare it to size it is fast. It is interesting to see in how many areas are you building with Technic. Since I see Scania in video, I have just one question dealing with Scania - do you have gears clicking in drivetrain or it runs smooth?

I'm asking because only solution similar to 9398 set is working smooth in my case...

Thanks

No, the scania has no drivetrain issues because the drivetrain is rduced to a minimum

I suppose XL motor geared down 12 to 20?

No, only 20z to diff.

Aha, in my situation it is a bit more complicated because I have 4 wheel drive...

this is official der most complex thing i have ever made. Even the rope has influences on the functions. this one which i use is much to sttiff for the payload winch.

if the embedded vid above doesnt work use this

Wow.. That's insane!

That is what you get when you give a german a box of lego, they never make anything simple.

@efferman All you need now is a truck chassis to put it on.

Have you tried braided fishing line? I've been using this (0.35 gauge, should hold up to 26 kg) for my crane tests and it's miles ahead of anything else I've ever tried. It behaves like a regular thread, so it moves smoothly and doesn't damage the parts, but it's far stronger and doesn't twist.

Till now i had only tested the green rope. This night i had ordered a rope which works good in cranes of buddys.

Has anyone an idea how much rotations a Tower Crane or a self erect Crane makes per minute? Actually iam on the Slewing Gearbox and iam not sure if 3 rpm are not to fast.

I would say it is too much, 3-4 rpm is usually on cranes that do contitious cycle work (like dragline crane), but I wouldn't go below 1-2 rpm as it is too slow to play with
