MOC: Royal Canadian Pacific

Recommended Posts

It looks like an FP-45 or similar with the cowl body design. I really like the way you used the colors and they appear to be a great match. This is far superior to your last MOC, not to say your last wasn't any good. You definitely captured an authentic look here. I would really like to see the CP decals on this when your finished. Excellent work!!!

I modeled this of the REAL Royal Canadian Pacific, that runs from Calgary to Vancouver and back.

Its a luxury train which tours the Rockie Mountains

http://www.royalcanadianpacific.com/

The Engine is an EMD FP9

a dummy car will follow, and when i get more brown bricks, the coaches.

Its supposed to be triple boggy im sure, but it'll look good with a double.

The idea was to have 2 motors, but i've been reading some peoples prob with that.

So the dummy car is a great idea to fix that prob. One motor in Engine, one in dummy.

The decals will come after i figure out the wheels.

It'll be yellow lettering in the lower brown.

nice, really nice! Several of my Uncles, my Granfather and two of my Great-Granfathers worked for the CPR.

Someone did a brown emerald night (it is on the forum somewhere) and used 2x4x 2/3 bricks with curved slopes from one of Lego's Pirate games (the only set to release it). Although not officially linked to a set on BL;you can find them in reddish brown;

It looks really good, but at least to me, it seems shaped more like an F40PH than anything else. I am sure you have looked at the Santa Fe Super Chief while building this, and maybe a more round design for the nose area, and of course the curved roof would help tremendously.

The color scheme is perfectly executed though, and I really like the model.

Looking fantastic with the added B unit, Brick-el.

You've done a great job with this loco.

That was me.

The brown curved slopes come from the 3840 Pirate Code game.

There are 8 per set, so I had to buy three sets to do the EN colour MOD.

Purchased at one of our local retail stores when they were on special.

Ok I'm not to sure what happened to brickshelf, but I motorized the Royal.

So no pics ATM.

Also this is a selfish bump to get this train into the MOC INDEX. :)

I cannot see your photos. Any updates now it is powered, it is always good to see a great train running especially if it looks like the real one. For myself I do not have an American train (Apart from the Maresk one.) and would like to have the chance to get one if TLG ever do one again. If not I may have to just build my own.

I'd like to see what you came up with.

Guys - please stop bumping these older topics. I'm not seeing any images either but by responding to these old topics, it knocks down our more recent discussions and MOCs. Brik-el is more than welcome to comment and deep link some images, at which time I'll be glad to index. Until then, leave these old posts alone, please.

I can't see the picture of this MOC when I go to this page. I would like to see it, as I live in Vancouver, a terminus of this train line.

Brikel's last post on EB was back in February. See also above.

In light of the continued efforts to bump this topic by asking for images, it is now closed.
