operrier Posted August 2, 2011 (edited) Here are the pictures of my first Harry Potter LDD MOC. It's the Shell Cottage from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I built the outside with pictures of the house from part 1, but I used my imagination for the inside as I did it before seeing part 2. Shell Cottage Number of pieces : 593 Minifigs : Harry Potter, Bill Weasley, Fleur Weasley, Griphook, Ollivander Animals : Crab, starfish, fish Scenes : Deathly Hallows View of the front side of the house. I've put two chimneys and I made the walls to look like if they were build of shells to fit with the movie. Closer look at the entrance. Notice the starfish and the crab. Here you can see how I did the chimneys. View of the inside of the house. The kitchen with a carrot, a fish and some other cool items. Here you can see the couch, the table, the flowers and the stairs. Upstairs there's a bed, Gryffindor's sword and a plan of Gringotts. Notice the cool chandelier. Go to my Flickr gallery to see more pictures : Shell Cottage Moc Hope you enjoyed my MOC! EDIT : Here are pictures of the brickbuilt MOC. And here's pictures of the minifigs included in this set. Bill and Fleur are custom. Bill Weasley Griphook Fleur Weasley Ollivander Harry Potter Edited August 17, 2011 by operrier

Jippon Posted August 2, 2011 Wow! Very cool moc! I like the way it looks like it could be real set, nice job!
Parrothead Rasmus Posted August 2, 2011 I'm loving this! I really like MOCs that actually look like sets. Fantastic job! Do you plan on building it ()or what you can at least)?
lightningtiger Posted August 2, 2011 AWESOME LDD creation 'operrier', now you only need to brick-build it ! Keep on casting spells !
operrier Posted August 3, 2011 I'm loving this! I really like MOCs that actually look like sets. Fantastic job! Do you plan on building it ()or what you can at least)? In fact this MOC is based on a Shell Cottage I built in real a while ago but I've redone it on LDD to make it more accurate. I'll try to take pictures of my first version and of my second too when it will be done. I think I have most of the pieces but not in the same color. At least I will be able to include the minifigures. I'm currently working on other LDD projects like Malfoy Manor, 12 Grimmauld Place and Lovegood House but as this one is quite small I may try to built it for real soon. TheLegoDr Posted August 3, 2011 I have every intention of making a MOC of this eventually. I'm glad to see someone else's take on it! Good work.

operrier Posted August 16, 2011 (edited) Here's some pictures of my Shell Cottage that I built with real legos. The colors and some bricks are different, but its the more similar I could do. And here's pictures of the minifigs included in this set. Bill and Fleur are custom. Skipper Posted August 16, 2011 I always love brickbuilt LDD mocs, I don't know why. The cottage itself is very homely, I actually like the colour changes you made, before it looked altogether too orange-ish in my opinion. I like the interior, however I think the roof would look better if you "filled out" the entire second layer of plates, right now it looks a little unfinished. Great figs + moc ! KristofBD Posted August 16, 2011 Love the brickbuilt version! I don't really mind that it is not completely accurate. It looks good the way it is.
Geertos13 Posted August 17, 2011 I saw this thread a little while ago and though Oh awesome a shell cottage MOC! Then I saw it was a LDD and was Mweeh I'm just not into Lego Digital Desgner, though when I saw this, I though, this is good It has potential. When I saw that this had been "bumped" so to say, I however decided to go check the latest comments and I saw your lego version! IT IS AWESOME!! A wonderful creation with some great accuracy to the movie! The custom Bill looks actually pretty good! I don't mind the facial hair that much as I think it suits him with his long hair, though I would have gone for just some stupple, an Indiana Jones like head would be nice, for instance! Great creation and good job on recreating the scene! You might want to post these pictures also in the first part of the article, so that everybody sees the lego version when they enter the thread! operrier Posted August 17, 2011 Thanks for your comments. I'm glad you liked my brickbuilt version because it was quite hard to find all the bricks >< I used Lupin's new head from the "Hogwarts Battle" set because I wanted Bill to have some scratches (from his encounter with Greyback). But I guess an Indiana Jones head could be good too.
Parrothead Rasmus Posted August 17, 2011 (edited) I love the brick-built version! Very well done. Bill and Fleur are fantastic! Never would've thought of those combos, but they work fantastically! Edited August 17, 2011 by Parrothead Rasmus

Though while reading the book I always imagined him a bit more like this : If you have a Indiana Jones head, and you're willing to customise him a bit (nothing difficult, but quite important changes) You're more faithful to the film though, so both work Edited August 17, 2011 by Geertos13
Legostein Posted August 29, 2011 Hello! That's a great addition to the Harry Potter series! I clearly prefer the brick-built version of the cottage, as it has a lot more body than the slightly pale LDD images. The interior details are great especially the chandelier. Cheers, ~ Christopher
Vindice Posted August 29, 2011 Very nice, really like this. it has such a great feel because it looks like an official set.
GhostFan Posted August 31, 2011 That's a really excellent brickbuilt LDD; details are lovely and very in-keeping with the feel of the building in the books and films, even if not 100% physically accurate regarding number of bedrooms etc. Very nicely done Would love to see this as part of a further HP wave, but maybe TLG don't perceive it as having had a sufficiently central role to create it. badboytje88 Posted August 31, 2011 This is a great MOC! I've been thinking about making a Shell Cottage myself out of the parts of the Mill raid. This MOC is truely inspirational.
