AwesomeTaylor Posted July 31, 2011 I have been browsing this forum since christmas when I started getting back into Lego! Here is what I have built in the past 6 months: My buildings mixed with Lego View of the street Girl with her dog The Cape Party meet at the streetcar station The town takes weed killing seriously! The mummys have come to the end of their vacation, and the bus is arriving to take them home The doctor is driving his sports car past the theatre The Eagle Theatre hosts lots of events and is the place to be since it was renovated But be careful when you service the AC, the zombie is stuck up there because he is afraid of heights and he gets hungry! A little detailing on the interior of the theatre Looking down from the ceiling at the crowd chearing on the luchador as he springboards into the ring As the action in the ring between Luchadore, Heart Throb Jack and Punk heats up, Sumo John appears to lay down a challange! A view over the shoulder of Luchadore shows the rest of the interior The mexican Stereotype exits the bakery with a smile on his face having bought some of the cakes in the window The living room is beautiful, but may be a little bare if the dog doesn't spot the thief! The race relaxes after a hard days racing A deal takes place in the sushi store And a line forms in the bakery Everyone was excited when they saw a pet shop opening up, but all is not as it seems... For a start, the owner reffers to himself as Space Daddy, and dresses in a somewhat questionable fashion And some of his 'pets' for sale have a questionable history! The apartment above is rented by a young couple who don't seem too worried about Space Daddy, what with the great rent that they get And the love the layout. Now if only they could get a larger bed! The hotel provides basic, yet attractive rooms in the heart of the town - perfect for visiting tourists and celebrities The roof is the star feature, with a large swimming pool and glass balcony A view inside shows the hotel floors. Each floor has one large room and two smaller rooms. Every room has a balcony This view shows the hotel rooms from the front The main hall of the hotel has a bar, check-in desk and a beautiful fountain The corner space has been bought up recently and turned into a gym and office space Here the CEO of Empire Industries describes to a worker how he would like his office to be set up. The boardroom table has yet to be delivered... Downstairs, furniture is delivered and arranged, while the foreman tries to explain the colour difference in the stairway railing the backside of the office space The front desk of the gym is fairly useless, As all they will tell you is that they are not taking sign-ups Inside the gym meanwhile, the equipment is being put to good use This little store sells droids, designed to help people with their house chores. The cost makes them something of a luxuary item You can have any colour you want, as long as it's tan! Upstairs, a painter works on makeing the appartment move-in ready Reports are that sometimes, the droids go bad... This old industrial building was recently gutted and turned into the ultimate night spot in town The roof-top access allows patrons to take a break from the noise and enjoy the warm nights in the summer The top floor features a night club that boasts the longest bar in town... And guest sets by the best djs Downstairs in the band area, the crowd are excited to see a popular band in an intimate setting And bands love the chance to play to an enthusiastic audience The bottom floor is a restaurant that serves great food The chef loves having everything he needs to make amazing food, and being nextdoor to the grocer helps! The kitchen is a little small, but has everything the chef could need
LEGO Guy Bri Posted August 1, 2011 Awesome job, 'AwesomeTaylor'. You have been busy! This is a great looking modular town. Looks to have a very diverse population. I really like the custom modulars you've created. Excellent job

LEGO Guy Bri Posted August 1, 2011 Thanks! It's been a lot of fun! And this forum has given me a lot of ideas and inspiration :D I bet it was fun. This forum is great for sharing ideas and technique. I originally browsed around here trying to see other's city layouts until I saw all the discussions about everything Lego. Had to join. slovakiasteph Posted August 1, 2011 Did you run out of "city" minifigs? I love the hotel... now I want to make one of my own! The balconies are great, and the water in the swimming pool looks so real! Love the microwave, and the interior of the theatre, and the living room, and... yeah, I could go on and on. 22kane Posted August 1, 2011 (edited) Excellent work there. I really like the theater and hotel, both have an authentic look to them. I'm curious if these buildings were your own design or if you found various building instructions? The reason is I wouldn't mind building that Theater, what a great MOC!! Keep up the great work, definitely a town to be proud of. By the way, great idea for the Hazmat guys! Edited August 1, 2011 by 22kane

AwesomeTaylor Posted August 1, 2011 Excellent looking town 'AwesomeTaylor' with a lot of interesting characters ! I bet those guy's sitting at the tram stop were going home to see their mummies ! Brick On 'AwesomeTaylor' ! Thanks! I appreciate the response. Perhaps I will one day expand it to something approaching the size of your town Did you run out of "city" minifigs? I love the hotel... now I want to make one of my own! The balconies are great, and the water in the swimming pool looks so real! Love the microwave, and the interior of the theatre, and the living room, and... yeah, I could go on and on. The day before, I got a bag with about 50 Star Wars figures in. I only know who Darth Vader is, so I figured I would just up my population with some weird people lol. The hotel is my GF's fave, the colours look great in person! Excellent work there. All my own design. I have the LDD files, but they changed dramatically for structural reasons when building. I will post some more shots when I get home. Your designs are so beautiful and unique. Thanks for sharing !! Thank you! I need to try to get away from greys in my next buildings a bit, but I tried to make them all interesting :D Thats a lot of building for just 6 months. Good work on the theatre though, I liked the eagle motif and the zombie on the roof! It was! And a lot of money spent on BrickLink! I'm gonna take a little rest for a bit I think before I start building again, and take some time to better design on the computer I think :)

fluffybunny Posted August 2, 2011 I am totally amazed by your city, everything is just great. Your theater is what impresses me the most, the eagle and theater written out, and all the other little details. Great job!!
sputnik16 Posted August 2, 2011 (edited) this town just looks so lively and busy. I like the theatre the best. Edited August 2, 2011 by sputnik16
LegoDadRobb Posted August 15, 2011 I love the inclusion of non-city minifigs into your city. The Jedis at the tram stop, the Droids at the theatre, and other unusual characters. It's a much more lively town that has a definite City feel.
KyleJohnson11 Posted August 15, 2011 All I can really say is WOW! Your City is incredible! Nice job!
AwesomeTaylor Posted August 15, 2011 (edited) awesome! Thanks! I appreciate it :) I am totally amazed by your city, everything is just great. Your theater is what impresses me the most, the eagle and theater written out, and all the other little details. Great job!! The theater is my fave too, it's so imposing in the line up! I designed it to be similar to one from my home-town at first, and it was where my Dad took me to me first wrestling show. Then the design changed to make it fit into a modular street layout better, which made it wider and less deep. My first plan was quite similar but only 32x32 and lots of chairs, but as soon as I decided to put a wrestling ring in the design had to change! this town just looks so lively and busy. I like the theatre the best. Thanks! I think it works well when you can peer in at such a colourful crowd! I love the inclusion of non-city minifigs into your city. The Jedis at the tram stop, the Droids at the theatre, and other unusual characters. It's a much more lively town that has a definite City feel. Yea, I got the figures in an auction at a local event the day before and just had to include them! I only know who Darth Vader is, but the other characters were too bizarre looking to NOT have hanging about in the town! I originally thought I could use the collectible mini-figs to do a Halloween display, but then noticed that 95% of my town was in costume! All I can really say is WOW! Your City is incredible! Nice job! I appreciate it! I'm making some 16 wides now like the Pet Shop to expand my town without taking up too much more shelf space :D Edited August 15, 2011 by AwesomeTaylor
MicroMax Posted August 29, 2011 "Awwwwwwwwesome!" the Miz would say to this cool Mini Wrestling Arena Reminds me of the 1993 Monday Night RAW Ballroom Hall, again very cool idea. The rest of your City is not any worse, I really like the idea of the steps up to the Sushi Bar, and your house designs are very extraordinary! Hope to see your City growing with more great buildings. :)

And the Miz would have the perfect attitude to rile up a small town crowd like this :D And thanks, the Sushi Bar and Bakery was a lot of fun to design - but very hard not to make it into a dull grey building! Damn those expensive pink bricks! Very nicely done! Thanks!
