Capn Frank Posted June 22, 2011 For a first ship, this is really well done. I like the overall shape of it and the colors you chose workout very nicely. If it's a military vessel, it ought to have more guns. A couple more gun ports on each side within the rigging channels would have worked. Vessels did have guns that shot through their rigging. Just have to make sure that the gun isn't pointed right at a line. I look forward to seeing future vessels from you. I think I'll break it before it has sails, I'm already thinking of my next creation! Are these the only Hull pieces you have?

Are these the only Hull pieces you have? yes these are the only hull pieces i have at the moment and im thinking about a new Pirate Cave with lots of treasure and the same display like Fortress De Ruyter but with at diffrent approach this time. I was thinking to change the docks for Beach and so on =] Well I hope it works out! I'm just having fun MOC-ing, and I'm always trying to provide BlogMaterial. but the last three posts didn't make it too bad. Greetz Bjornu
Bart Posted June 23, 2011 I just watched the video, didn't have the opportunity before. and I really love the unintended wave effect of the blue sheet at the end where you rotate the ship, with some imagination it looks like water :D Bart

Darth Yogi Posted June 23, 2011 Nice ship. Its nice to see a galleon every once in a while, and yours is no exception. I must say I would love to see it with sails before it get destroyed. Great job

Captain Blackmoor Posted June 25, 2011 I always like to see Dutch ships floating around here. A beautiful vessel Bjornu! Really nice. The shapes are cool and so are the colours. I'm looking forward to see more from you.

I'm looking forward to see more from you. Hey Captain Blackmoor, And what would you like to see from me? Since I would like to construct more Buildings/landscape/Caves/mountains instead of ships. I lack the ability to create a nice ship due to te skills and bricks I have. I hope you would like to see buildings also? Greetz Bjornu
AwesomeStar Posted June 26, 2011 Hey Bjournu! Lego Galleons are unfortunately rather rare, but yours is incredibly striking. The entire shape is very accurate, and it's a pity it is now broken up as I too would have loved to have seen it in full sail. All the flags are lovely, and the colour scheme is brilliantly dangerous, sure to strike fear into any pirate on the seven seas! Great job, and I can't wait to see more of your work. This ship in particular is a brilliant inspiration for me. -A.S.

The next one will be a pirate cave at the size of Fortress De Ruyter. I hope you'll watch it out Greetz Bjornu
Charlie03 Posted June 28, 2011 I think that this is a great looking ship, and it is nice and refreshing to see a well built galleon! I especially like the stern chaser! Well done! In thinking about your paper sail problem (which I know you can't add since you have taken the ship apart) you might try to make the sails on a future vessel out of a cloth material. I cut up a t-shirt for the sails of my HMS Surprise, and the end result looks a lot better than paper. You might have seen this, but Admiral Croissant created an excellent tutorial about making detailed and realistic sails. Click here
