Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion

I still don't get it how Maul survived. Is he going to have metal legs?

I've heard he's going to have those legs from the EU, most likely the metal ones you mean.

‎"As Darth Maul and Savage Opress assault on the Jedi in the temple, Obi-Wan and Mace Windu evacuate the young lings while Anikin confronts Maul in a duel that leads him to the dark side of the force."

Description of "Revenge".

I have the feeling that we're going to see Ahsoka being killed off at this point.

There's enough reason for them to do it in 'Revenge', where Anakin draws closer to the dark side.

Probably makes sense to do it there.

I doubt it. Reason I say that is because they said recently they have 8 potential ending's for Ahsoka so far, but they haven't decided which one yet.

That would be so awesome, but I doubt it because she wouldn't be in season 5 then.

Hm. Actually, I can't see what'd be awesome about Ashoka getting killed. I really can't think of one single occasion I found her annoying.

In the beginning she was at times, but she has not been for a long time. I also, do not think that seeing Ahsoka get killed would be awsome, I like her.

I don't think it would go over well to kill Rex and Ahsoka; so, perhaps they won't die, and will appear in Star Wars: Underworld.

As much as I'm against the resurection of Maul, this does sound pretty good. I kinda wish Windu would duel Maul though. Oh well.

Ugh! We're back to this discussion again? :ugh:

I don't think they will kill a main character like Ahsoka. Also they would not do so in the middle of the show; but at the end.

So, you are right; no need for discusion.

Eh, Windu will probably duel Opress or something like that.

Also, Mr. Filoni did say that they are going to go into Order 66..... Seems like that would be the best time to kill off Ahsoka and possibly Rex.

He didn't mean they would actually have order 66 in the show; I think what he was saying is that they were going to show how Sidious was working to set it up the whole time. Of course, it made sense to me in the film without any background at all. It was actually cool to think that the Clones were 'programmed' that way from the start, and all he had to do was give the order and they would do it. They CW people have only dug themselves into trouble with that by giving the Clones so much capacity for independent thought, so I guess George has some convoluted ideas about how Order 66 needs to be set up, or something.

Well, I'm really hoping for Order 66 in the show; it will give the episodes the darker, sadder tone of RotS. Another thing I would like to see is the remainder of the Ventress story; the explanation of her being MIA in the comics just wasn't enough for me.

I always was under the impression that order 66 was either genetically programmed, or that the clones were influenced by Palpatine's influencing force powers. I was pretty surprised when I heard that this was not the case.

It doesn't seem plausible at first glance that the Jedi council tolerates order 66 since it is openly directed against the Jedi. But with Jedi like Krell who conspire against the Republic and the Jedi order 66 makes sense at last - especially, if Palpatine is able to make such conspiracies public and rises fears among the senators, creating the impression that he agrees to the creation of order 66 hesitatingly, as giving in to a public demand.

Perhaps Ventress will appear in this episode with Savage Oppress.

I never assumed from those Filoni quotes that it will actually be a public thing, just that there will be more to it than genetic programming (which is sad because, as I said, I liked the whole genetic programming thing). I am certain that the Jedi won't know about Order 66, that just wouldn't make sense.

I'm also certain it won't actually happen in the show. How could it? The show can't actually go into the same timeline as Episode III, it has to end beforehand.

Due to wookiepedia, it wasn't really a secret order:

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Order_66

That it escapes the Jedi council's attention doesn't seem very plausible to me, though.

Anyway, I was just speculating, and I'm pretty curious what the TCW guys will make of this stuff.

Well, in regards to Order 66 and the Clones' reactions to the order, I think that TCW will show the various ways of the deaths. But, as in multiple books and comics depicting Order 66, some clones disobeyed the order and saved the Jedi at the cost of their lives. While watching Rex try to execute Krell, he hesitated despite knowing that it was the right thing to do. This was a result of after months of war alongside Jedi, he had come to become an individual thinker like most other clones, and since he had grown to trust the Jedi, killing one even though being ordered had become a difficult. IMO, Rex will NOT follow Order 66 unless Filoni makes him a robot again :sceptic: . I'd think that he will A) save Ahsoka at the cost of his life or desert or just join the Imperial Army. B) a scared crapless Jedi will kill him even though he was trying to save him/her.

I can see Palpatine pulling something like this off only if there are other Jedi like Krell that have visions of the fall of the Jedi and become enemies of the Republic. It would then make sense for the clones to lose faith and have their doubts in the Jedi.

Well, the in-universe answer is that it was one of 150 contingency protocols drilled into the clones along with their military training. Frankly, this has always made more sence to me than genetic programming.

Maybe the final episode of TCW series 5 is a flash forward to the end of ROTS .

I'm looking forward to Maul and Savage tearing stuff up for 3-4 episodes ,but I hope there isn't a stupid contrived way of tying them off, just leave the plot hanging, if your going to bring back Darth Maul don't kill him off again.
