As the demon attacked, the villagers scattered.

post-486-129982578372.jpg

The evil creature knocked Marcellus the Monk over as it went to snag a random morsel for a sacrificial snack.

post-486-129982578953.jpg

"You shall not pass!" Marcellus cried as a bright white energy shot out of the end of his staff.

post-486-129982579489.jpg

The demon fled back into the forest as Marcellus turned back to the people of Spring Haven. "It's not safe here, people. Please go to your homes and lock your doors."

post-486-129982580257.jpg

But, the street was already empty as everyone had fled.

post-486-129982581572.jpg

Booker Bear ran straight to his small little shack on the edge of the forest, tripping and falling right before getting to his front door.

post-486-129982582171.jpg

He turned around to see a foreboding figure towering over him with a hammer.

post-486-12998258301.jpg

Fearing for his safety, Booker ran into his home and began barricading the door.

post-486-129982583698.jpg

But, that's exactly what the dark figure wanted. It began to nail Booker's door shut...

post-486-129982584684.jpg

...and spread kerosene around the outside of Booker's house.

post-486-12998258553.jpg

Booker cursed himself for leaving such a mess in his house. He knew there was something around that could protect him.

post-486-129982586739.jpg

He found the magic orb...but it would not work for him. "Aw nuts." Booker exclaimed.

post-486-129982587524.jpg

The figure lit a torch and started the house on fire.

post-486-129982588205.jpg

Booker realized barricading the door had helped the killer trap him inside.

post-486-129982588917.jpg

Booker watched the disturbing image of the dark figure dancing joyously as his house burned.

post-486-129982589554.jpg

As the fire enclosed around Booker, he thought, "megablocking not again."

post-486-129982590228.jpg

And then he burst into flames.

post-486-129982591827.jpg

The little shack burned down quickly, and Booker Bear was no more.

post-486-129982592647.jpg

The Baker's wife was on her way to see Marcellus the Monk and stumbled upon the gruesome sight.

post-486-129982593347.jpg

Marcellus the Monk spent the night watching the town square, guarding the village against any returning demons. He was reading a book called "Werewolf" that someone had recommended to him. As he finished the first chapter he thought, "That werewolf was pretty stupid."

Off in the distance there was a flash of red, then a flash of green, followed by another flash of red. He knew a bit of magic had happened somewhere and hoped that all of the villagers were OK.

post-486-129982594897.jpg

The Baker and his wife stopped by to say Hello. The Baker's wife told Marcellus of Booker's untimely passing. Marcellus was very saddened to lose his stinky friend. "Hell is empty and all the devils are here," he said, quoting Shakespeare.

The Baker looked down at Marcellus's staff. "Unfortunately, that staff will no longer work. It's a tricky bit of magic and I can't produce another one. You will not be able to protect the people from another random attack. If they don't convict someone, the demons will randomly choose one of them." The Baker and his wife said good night.

post-486-129982595869.jpg

Daxia suddenly appeared. "I'll make sure there's trouble if no conviction is reached. I can give further gifts to my precious Demon Legion. If there's no conviction, I'll make sure they have fun when night falls!"

post-486-129982597534.jpg

And, in a flash, the evil sorceress disappeared.

post-486-129982610303.jpg

In the morning, everyone arrived in the village square to see if anyone had learned anything during the night time.

post-486-129982611082.jpg

Marcellus addressed the people about the death of Booker Bear - a loyal member of The Village. Then something odd happened...

post-486-129982611797.jpg

"Sorry I'm late everybody!" Brigit Bunny said.

post-486-129982613405.jpg

A shocked silence was followed by quiet comments.

"What is this? Amateur hour?"

"Are we in Mystery Castle?"

post-486-129982614284.jpg

"Um, hello. What? I overslept..."

_________________________________________________________________

Day Two has begun. Voting is not allowed in the first 24 hours.

Objective

The Villagers must find and eliminate all members of The Demon Legion. The Demon Legion wins when they outnumber the innocent Villagers.

Rules

1. Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Village or the Demon Legion. To win the game, the Village must kill off all the Demon Legion, while the Demon Legion needs to outnumber the Village. Third-Party (neutral) characters have their own win conditions as outlined in their roles.

2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, un-voting is to be done in the format; Un-vote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. You are only allowed one un-vote a day. A majority vote is required to lynch a player.

3. A game day will last 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. After the day has concluded, a night stage will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of the night stage.

4. The alignment of lynched players will be revealed at the beginning of the next day, as well as those that died during the night.

5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the game host via PM. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but only in your own words. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage.

6. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game.

7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. It is very important in this game to not discuss anything with dead players. I will only say this once. Don’t screw yourself over by revealing anything to a player who seems to have been removed from the game. Get it?

8. You may not edit your posts. 1st offense: penalty vote, 2nd offense: The untimely death of your character and the end of your game. No chance for resurrection.

9. You must post in every day thread. One day without a post and your character will be comically killed off.

10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the host via PM.

11. It is recommended that you turn off your profile views for this game.

The Deceased

post-486-129985620205.jpgBooker Bear - Garbage Man - Village - murdered on Night One

played by Dragonator

A tribute to EB mafia All-Star Dragonator:

Warning: The following contains shocking never-before-seen material which may disturb some people. While the biographer has attempted to present the truth, the nature of the elusive figure in question has rendered this impossible in some places.

The History of Lord Dragonator in the Realm of EuroBricks' Mafia

Compiled and realised by Thomas Mallory, Court Archivist

Translated with notes by Sir Fredrick Spencer of the Royal Society of Draconic Studies

This entirely factual historic account relays the presence of Lord Dragonator in the realm of Eurobricks, with a particular focus on his involvement and dealings with the local Mafia, who interestingly run a high-stakes game of the same name. We have no clear indication of who Lord Dragonator was before he arrived on the Mafia scene; his past, where he came from, even his real name, is a mystery my sources have been unable to answer or confirm, other than speculation I will not recount at this time. However, what we do know I have no doubts about the validity, having spoken at great length with several trustworthy eye witnesses who wished to remain anonymous.

Lord Dragonator's presence in EuroBrick's Mafia can be traced back to its very origins. Although records are inconsistent, it is my belief that Dragonator arrived some time during the trialing of the first ever Mafia game on EB, titled Western Mafia, in the early days of the Year of our Lord 2008. There is no evidence that he was directly involved in this initial and controversial Mafia game (for a detailed overview of game-play, see Appendix 1), but it is clear that he was present and observed quietly from the hills, perhaps preparing himself to begin infiltrating the society come the next game. Whatever the case, the first sighting of him that I have been able to confirm was in the next ill-fated game, Roman Mafia. This game remains unfinished to the present day, having to be abandoned after the Aventine Pig population rebelled and rose up against the might of the Empire. It is my understanding from pieced together records of the game that Lord Dragonator played the role of a government official, a centurio, which is not surprising given his characteristics. If this centurio had an action, the records do not say, however after careful analysis I would be willing to propose that he was a town vigilante of sorts, given the evidence in the pattern of night actions.

After the collapse of the Empire, Lord Dragonator took it upon himself to share some of his own culture and set himself up to host the next game, which would be set in a castle that he apparently has some history with. It was in this game that we first get a clear image of his Lordship, for as the host he came before the people as himself, not disguised in a role. This game, titled Mystery Castle (also referred to as MC, and later as MC1), was set in Dragon's Keep, an immense fortress which we unfortunately did not get to fully explore at the time. I was however able to speak with one of the game spectators, Lady Dolores, who told me a fanciful recount of the events, including an incident involving a potato cart, a pigeon that wasn't kicked, and Greek armour. I am sceptical as to the truth of this account, and so will not relate it in full, however it is certainly clear that by this time Dragonator was making himself well known, for better or worse.

The next game Dragonator was involved in, The Baritones, was produced in the authentic Mafia style. I almost wonder if it was really a game at all, considering the apparent social upheaval at this time. My theory is that the real local EB Mafia, annoyed that their monopoly on the game was being compromised, decided to try and step in to put a stop to the issue. Clearly they failed though, as the Mafia was thoroughly defeated by an alliance including a lawyer and her brother in law. From the evidence and the testimony of Ivan the chef, I can conclude with some certainly that Dragonator played the role of the lawyer, Darlene, a fiery woman who was dedicated to her town and her family. It is fitting then that the town proved victorious.

The final game of 2008AD, Witch Hunt Mafia, was to be unique in its own aggravating way. In this, I can be certain that Lord Dragonator played as Mustafa the foreign merchant of Moorish descent, as he mentions this character at a later date. This character was the target of much hate and anger, as he owned the shop that apparently supplied the witches with their nefarious items. However, he battled though and managed to survive long enough for the townsfolk to realise that they were hunting entities which simply did not exist. After much grumbling, everyone conceded that it was still quite fun, and lynching the host was certainly a bonus I was informed by one enthusiastic participant.

With the new year came the return of the Mafia in Baritones 2. Again, I have my suspicions that some of the players may have been real Mafia members looking to get revenge for their ousting in the previous encounter. Whatever the case, it was a very hard-fought game, in which Lord Dragonator, playing as the loyal executioner Dragonatieri, was carefully eliminated by the eventual sole survivor, his first death in a game. I would like to make a note here that apparently the FBI were indeed parked outside Dragonatieri's house, despite claims to the contrary, however they were apparently watching him, not working with him. This is my interpretation of the historical sources, at least.

The next game, hesitantly titled Galactic Paranoia, is not overly well documented, and my sources are very vague about the details. I have managed to confirm that part way through the original host was usurped by another, and that Lord Dragonator played as the loyal Imperial Pvt. Drake Knator, but I have been unable to confirm what actions he may have had or what happened to him, as apparently the roles have been lost. I have found some vague mention of a Commander Tinklepants, but what part he may have played in the action-packed game we can only guess at. Such is the nature of history. After this episode in space, I understand that his Lordship returned to tradition in Noir Mafia, playing as Dr. Julius Agon on the side of the town, however he was unnecessarily dispatched on the first night, so I do not feel it deserves further comment.

After these two not so favourable outcomes, Dragonator took a break from playing and hosted his second game, Mystical Castle (also called MC2). Although the game was not run directly by his lordship, he did make a cameo appearance near the end, which revealed several startling things about him. I have been unable to conclude if they were simply an elaborate plot device or a hint at something more, so I will not disclose what occurred at this time. More interesting, I find, is Lord Dragonator's role in the next game, Infection, set far in the future, and I will detail this particular game at great length, for I find it to be of significant importance in the dragon lord's progress in the Mafia scene, it being his first game playing as the Mafia, not the town. Dragonator played as Ernev Seluj, an alien which looked remarkably like a flying pumpkin, and specialised in language. After hearing an account of the game from the... I was captivated by...

Editorial note: The manuscript at this point is damaged significantly and is unfortunately not legible until much further down the next page. The narration picks up again with the next chronological game. The fragments that are legible indicate a discussion of tactics and development in the genre.

...was Prohibition Mafia, in which Dragonator played the role of Rhonda Falzone, a local produce farmer. This character was on the side of the town until a late conversion brought her into the ranks of the Mafia, swinging the numbers enough to allow for an easy Mafia victory. Dragonator continued to play on the Mafia side, defying statistical odds, for the next three games, thus so as not to repeat myself, I shall simply list here the information I have about these. In Imperial Soldier Mafia, he played as Pvt. David Reutal, the Mafia hitman, which was won through the now infamous use of the sausage manoeuvre. In Dystopia, he played as Drake Johnson, an officer of the Coast Guard, in which he was killed on the first night for the second time. In Hogwarts Mafia, he played as Jingle the House-elf and was voted out on day seven.

The next game, Eurogina, signaled his Lordship's triumphant return to the town side, playing as Drake Nader, the Chief of Police. Not only did he have a vest to protect him, he was also so loyal that he could not be converted by the Mafia. Dragonator was most notably successful for taking down the anarchist in this game, who was set on killing off the entire police force, thus saving many of his fellow townies from gruesome deaths. However, due to a misunderstanding with his vest he did not survive long after this achievement, an unfortunate turn of events which may well have contributed to the downfall of the town and the eventual victory of one of the Mafia families.

After his brief hiatus, Dragonator was back on the side of the Mafia in Dr. Bloodbrick's Asylum, playing as one of the Sinister Insane, Salvatore Ricardo Samuels, the Mafia blocker. Once again he proved his ability to work successfully with whatever role he is given, gaining the trust of a select group of innocents early on and manipulating them behind the scenes to eventually score a victory without losing a single fellow Mafioso. As he was very quick to point out in the next game, this was down to several oversights on the part of the town which he was quick to take advantage of. This and the exceptional coordination of the scum side led to a well deserved and much envied victory, which I understand caused much frustration for the townspeople who were duped time and time again. I guess it was fated then, that his lordship was to be killed on the first night of the next game, Werewolf Mafia, in which he played the role of Dacius Nathans, an innocent police officer with the ability to confiscate property. Unfortunately, such is the way of Mafia, so I have observed in my studies. I should also note that this was the third time Lord Dragonator was killed on the first night of a game. While events may not have gone in his favour this time, it is clear that Dragnator is a persistent individual who doesn't let anything put him off his enjoyment of these games. We may not know much about the man behind the figure, but we do know about his involvement and from that can infer a lot about this mysterious individual. In fact, when looking... one can observe...

Editorial Note: Again, the manuscript is badly damaged, and is either unfinished or the rest is lost. Maybe, one day, we will find it.

At the very least, I'm surprised by this... His targeting and the reveal that he was on the side of this village. But, I suppose to the many meta-gamers villagers here, he was a threatening presence. Unfortunately, he didn't get the village bodyguard.

Why are everybody staring at me? I really did oversleep, that's all!

But poor trashy bear, what an awful way to go! He even got a magical device, but unfortunately it was dysfunctional. I wonder how many others have similar devices...?

Oh, I overheard that Edgar Elephant had many visitors last night. Lucky he's still with us, though.

It seems like quite a lot happened during the night. Poor Booker burned in his own house. What was the blue object in his possession? Some kind of protection that wasn't effective for some reason? The baker's wife seems to have it again now... maybe she will redistribute it. And then some magic happened that we haven't seen the results of. It seems like we should be most worried about the red flashes, at least they look most menacing.

And it looks like we really should get serious about convicting someone today. A random kill and especially the extra powers given to the Demon Legion aren't things to look forward to. I hope someone picked up some leads during the night that can be somehow communicated to the rest of the village.

And Ms. Bunny, why are you so late today? You seem to be occupied with that long hard carrot...

Poor Booker.... It is very sad that our bear friend is no longer with us especially since it is now proven that he was one of us. The manner of his death was horribly gruesome. I hope that no one else suffers such a horrible fate.

This was clearly arson and I don't think a regular bodygaurd would have saved him. It is imperative that we catch this other menace to our fair village.

Yes, I was. The life of a virgin is not easy, you know?

That's the reason I overslept, I guess. I can't fathom why I was called out for that...

Anyway, we got lucky last evening when the demon attacked. It's evident we won't be as lucky tonight, so we need to make a conviction, as painful as it is.

Hmm... It's really unfortunate for Booker to be his/her target... Sigh, and I supposed there is a lot of communications happening last night and someone told me I was actually visited by a few people. I wonder what it was all about. It appears we got a lot of interpretation work to do..

To be honest, I am quite surprised to see myself standing here again. I hope we could work together to rid those demons before they rid us.

It was a shame to lose Booker and it seems he even had a useful orb. Nethertheless we must concentrate on who to lynch today, we don't have long till we can begin voting and if we fail to lynch today then one of us will surely be snapped up by the evil demons.

Did anyone learn anything?

Poor, poor Booker. His time in this Forest was far too short. It is apparent that the Baker and his wife gave Booker some sort of magic. Unfortunately it was not enough to save his life. :cry_sad:

It is clear to me that we need to reach a conviction today. Having learned from yesterday, I think we need to discuss whom to convict thoroughly before casting any vote. I must admit I felt a bit handcuffed after voting and unvoting Edgar yesterday. I urge everyone to discuss suspicions thoroughly.

Does anyone have any information to get us started?

Poor Booker... The waxing was all in vain... :cry_sad:

There's no doubt that a conviction is required today. Hopefully it will be based on some evidence, I look forward to hearing any results from the magic powers the Baker has bestowed upon the village.

Poor Booker, what a way to go. It seems that he was given magic, shame it proved useless. Whats more, I have no one to move my trash now! :cry_sad:

Yes, I was. The life of a virgin is not easy, you know?

Oh, I'm sure somebody in this village can remedy that...

Well, honey, maybe you should check out your memory silly! If the book of them evil-baddies was found in a burned down house, he probably isn't working with them. Most likely a town vigilante who didn't get things quite right. :sadnew: This is why we should leave the killing out of things. The only person killed has been by ourselves, not the demons. Shucks, this is all so sad. I need more information before I vote for anyone, but Brigit's right, we need to vote today.

Dee doo dah. Of course Becka! The only reason I thought about a vigilante is that they DID unearth that nasty book for us a while ago, which I figured may be a hint towards them working with the town... but yes, neutral is possible too. Maybe I'm just being a wishful thinker.

Ok but what about the evil party then? I thought their plan was to sacrifice innocent furry villagers to their demonic masters. There was no other kill last night, so either they were busy playing with their... construction toys? or they were somehow blocked. I'm sure some of us have knowledge from last night that could lead to a conviction.

Yes this is indeed interesting, more than one visitor, and Edgar is still alive. Perhaps he was stopped from his chosen "night move" Some more info would be most helpful.

Lambs to the slaughter  My vote is for a neutral arsonist.

Seems like a plan to not kill on the first night, perhaps they decided to press gang an innocent into their ranks instead of killing? Or simply chose to let the Elephant Arsonist to do his work instead? :look:

Unfortunately Edgar is still near the top of the list for me, but I look forward to seeing how this day plans out.

This is a sentiment I agree with. The firebug is either aligned with the Legionaires, or is a dangerous Neutral. I'd lean towards neutral, but it would only be a guess at this stage.

They could easily have been part of the ...activity at Edgar's house. It has been mentioned that there was a lot going on there. Or they could have been adding members to their cause. This second possibility sends chills up my spine, that another of our fair villagers could be aligned with these scum. As if we didn't have enough problems locating one yesterday. :hmpf:

I just heard it from someone who probably heard it from another person. It could be a ruse, but since we only had one death last night (which is speculated to be caused by a neutral arsonist), it might very well be that Edgar was targetted for a kill, but then someone protected him. *shrugs*

I need more information before I vote for anyone, but Brigit's right, we need to vote today.

That's quite a change of tone from yesterday... :hmpf:

Indeed, Gilbert, I too am somewhat confused. I think it's somewhat safe to assume that whoever killed Booker was an arsonist. After all, if I remember from Day One, the Demon Legion are trying to sacrifice and honor something or something like that. It would make more sense for them to do some sort of a crazy religious ceremony, not burn a guy to a crisp. Does this mean that a potential blocker blocked the Demon killer? Is there even a demon killer? We've already observed one action, the arsonist burning down Booker's cabin. However, does this mean we don't have a vigilante? Is the arson really a misguided vigilante?

It's silly to ask "What did anyone learn last night?" because those with night actions wouldn't reveal them this early in the game. Sadly, we didn't learn anything from Booker's death. Looking back, I don't see anyone who was malicious or hostile to Booker.

:hmpf:

Somehow I don't think the Demon Legion would have bothered with Edgar if the Arsonist is neutral. But I can believe that the Demon Legion attempted te recruit instead of killing.

Well someone could invent a play about absurdly nicknamed fictional people and help us understand in covert terms what transpired during the night, like the delicious Harriet I once knew in a past life?

What is probably the most interesting scenario is if Scum tried to kill Edgar last night but were blocked, then the blocker now knows who the night killer is! The other less juicy scenario is that Edgar had protection (more likely) which thwarted the murder attempt.

If we have a vigilante, and he's not the guy burning bears to crisps, then he might have decided to stay home last night. There wasn't that much evidence to base a night kill on, I guess.

Then you don't believe Edgar is scum anymore?
