[EDIT : Latest version of the masts in post #3!]

Hi everyone!

I finally managed to get something decent out of LDD for a small hull design.

After browsing the Internet to see what I could do with it, I saw some pictures of the beautiful Baltimore schooners.

I adapted the concept a little bit to try and practice on a cabin at the stern, along with ship lanterns.

The result is the Lynx, a schooner from the late 1700s.

Thanks for reading, comments and feedback welcome!

Good idea to make a baltimore schooner. It's an interesting ship type, the forerunner of the clipper, and I believe I haven't seen one before here.

The colour scheme is nice, and on the side view the hull seems perfect.

What you could change IMO is letting the hull be at it's max with for a longer part, almost to the fore mast.

The bow is actually quite stump (as you can see here).

And (although I don't know if it's doable) you could make the masts lean over towards the stern a bit (like here)

That's quite a typical feature for these ships. Anyway, it's already a very fine vessel. Keep it up

Thanks for the heads-up Admiral!

I followed your advice and modified the design to give a slight slope to the masts. They're now attached to the bottom of the hull and pass through the main deck :

A close-up that shows how they emerge from the lower hull :

That being said, I gave up the idea of widening the hull to the bow, that would require a complete re-design of the base and I'm just too lazy :)

Thanks anyway^^

I understand that. It's just something you can keep in mind when you're building a new ship.

And it looks's great now with the changed masts. Good job.
