Dear all,

I would like to present you my version of the Starspeeder 3000 from the Star Tours ride at the Disney parks. I made this vehicl for the Lowlug Star wars MOC competition.

Star Tours is a ride at virtually all Disneyland parks and is based on Star Wars, where you make a flight through the universe in a flight simulator similar to the ones' professional pilots use.

A prototype from Lucasarts:

When you walk towards the ride you pass a lifesize model of a Starspeeder 3000, with on it's side quite some damage.

I based my MOC on this version:

5359245021_4dd11e782f_z.jpg

Naturally the side doors open. The speeder has room for 16 travellers:

When you take a good look, you can see the driver of the vehicle, RX-24 (aka Rex):

What a lot of people do not know, however, is that the vehicle is actually piloted by someone else! Let's take a look...

5359859270_cc24910323_z.jpg

It's George Lucas himself!

I also made the background setting of the model in the parks:

In the front you can see all the figures included in this MOC: George Lucas, two Star Tours employees, DL-X2 (security), RX-24 ('pilot'), G2-9T (repair droid), C-3PO (coordinator) and R2-D2 (navigation)

I made the sticker of the control panel myself. You can see a blueprint of the Starspeeder 3000:

A few more images of the background setting:

Well, everyone is ready to receive new passengers for the next flight!

From left to right: Vilmarh Grahrk (aka 'Villie'), Astraal Vao, Wall-E, EVE, Chewbacca (what a Wookie!), Boba Fett (Just escaped from the Sarlacc pit and now looking for a new ride) and a skieer who seems to be on his way to Hoth

More / all photo's are to be found here

Feedback is always welcome!

This is really awesome HJR.

You've really nailed the colour scheme and incorporated those blue lines amazingly well.

I repeat:

Wow.

What a great MOC. The features, the overall look, the hangar,... . I'm stunned.

Or in other words:

A great choice for a MOC you've made. Very unique it feels :yoda:

A very nice moc Hjr.:classic:

I love the line of new passengers and I laughed about Georgie who still wants control everything called Star Wars.

RX-24: "But Sir, I am the driver of this speeder!"

George Lucas: "Shut your mouth! I invented Star Wars, so I drive this beauty!"

Seeing this just fills me with regret, I went to Disneyland Paris last year and the kids refused to go on with me. Of course, I'm an adult so I'm not going to go on on my own - I had my chance and I blew it :sadnew: ! Maybe I should be more strict with the kids?

I've never seen an MOC of this before and I think this one is great. The interior, the exterior, the background and the figures, it's all good stuff and good fun too.

I love that ship; have the toy version. Wish there was a LEGO one though. :hmpf_bad: Especially with LEGO's partnership with Disney and Lucsfilms...

But thats an Outstanding MOC! You nailed it, but it looks rtaher complicated to build.

That is amazing! What a fantastic MOC.

Including with very beauty details (likewise the waiting zone with C-3PO and R2D2) and your very good technic style is the Star Tours Starspeeder very realistic.

Hello all,

Sorry to dig up this old topic, but I wanted to let everyone know that I have added this MOC to the LEGO Cuusoo website Feel free to visit the site, and of course, to vote

In order to keep interest going, I've set myself the following goal if I get enough supporters for this project:

1000 supporters: I will make the Air Alderaan Starspeeder (red / white)

2000 supporters: I will make the Dantooine Express Starspeeder (red / white)

4000 supporters: I will make the Bespin Direct Starspeeder (orange / white)

6000 supporters: I will make the Star Tours Starspeeder (dark red / white)

8000 supporters: I will make the Tatooine Transit Starspeeder (blue / white)

10000 supporters: I will make the Naboo Spacelines Starspeeder (yellow / red)

Thanks in advance for your help :-)

I looked at the first post in this topic before I checked the latest reply. THEN I saw your MOC. Then I hoped the latest reply was a bump for CUUSOO, and hurrah! It is!

I love this. It's absolutely fantastic! So many great details, and it looks just like the real thing. I like the blue stripes.

I hope everyone else loves it as much as I do, because I want to own this!

chance to go on the ride at Florida this spring, and I must say

you have captured a lot of detail.

Though I don't want it (no reflection on your MOC, just on my taste), I will support it .
