There is a gimmick about the list price.

Amazon.co.jp starts from 28% discount.

Then the actual price is around 110 eur.

Saw a shelf tag at Toys R Us today. $119, but no date. Actually had about 4 feet wide space w/ multiple tags, so I assume this store is getting a LOT of these.

I was expecting $140-$150 given how expensive 8043 was.

At a price of $120, 8070 is a must-buy. The 8297 Off-Roader cost $120 and provided a comparable number (and more importantly, assortment) of parts. Plus, if TRU is stocking 8070, we might eventually be able to buy it at a 20-30% discount.

Yes! Toys R Us runs a 20% discount about once every 6 weeks and you can use it on anything except for video games and baby products

Called TRU today and asked if it was instock. Said no, but shows "pending at warehouse" which means should be available in store in a week or so. Hoping it's in next week during the rumored buy 1 get one half price sale :)

YES!!!!

Also called TRU today to ask when they're available.

With a little luck 8070 could be there by the end of next week.

Would be a great b-day present.

I was a t TRU today in Houston TX, and saw the same spot on the shelf, they are expecting them some time this week. The clerk checked and came back and said that it will mot be part of the buy one get one 50% off sale going on this week.

Has anyone heard different?

Apologies if this has been covered earlier, but is 8070 an Argos exclusive in the UK? I see it's not available on lego.shop.com or Amazon for the UK.

Unfortunately Argos' stock doesn't seem to be very regular either. :sceptic: Anyone have any informed news/opinion on whether they are likely to get more at a later date and also have them in-store as opposed to on-line only?

Many thanks!

I'm in Scotland, and being tight I want to use a gift card as part purchase. Only you can't use that on-line, and I've yet to see a local store have it in stock or "reserve for collection".

Thanks for the info, I'll just keep my eyes peeled.

This set has already been on shelf in VietNam for a few weeks, sold at 216 USD.

Wow. :hmpf_bad: and we get $100 less here in the states. :classic:

Can't wait to lay my hands on one of these sets.

The parts assortment is enough of a reason to get one (or two...)

Too slow... out of stock online.

Wow, that went quick. I ordered two about 3 hours ago and I just went back to order two more. Too bad. Does anyone know what the real US price will be? Is 119 with a toys r us markup, or is that retail?
