LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

The CW V-wings do make an appearance in RotS, as background vehicles during the Battle of Coruscant.

Is that CW V-Wing you're referring to the same as the V-Wings which escorted Palpatine's Shuttle in Mustafar?

But this years 'Freeco Speeder', 'Cad Bane Speeder' and the generals starfighter are all from series 1 which was 2009 - just from that I would say the up comming sets are mostly for series 2.

On saying that the CTT is from series 2.......we'll just have to wait and see.

Yep you're correct on those Series 1 sets, but there's always a possibility that TLG might release a MF of an 'upcoming' SW character (Shaak Ti). I'm bad at my LSW history but has this been done before? If not, I hope they do it with Shaak, or Ki-Adi from Series 2 will be great too.

On CTT, it is based on Series 2 (first appearance in CW series), and if I remember right, the rumors/photo leaks started before Season 2 started, though the actual release of the set is after the series.

My memory is a bit fuzzy, but wasn't there a couple CW episodes that had the Jedi Shuttle. With Adi Gallia? That could be the new jedi MF.

And no I don't want another Freeco Speeder. I was using that as a example, everyone seems to want another X-Wing, or other OT ship that has beem released more then once. That goes for the current wave. Another Snowspeeder, GG Starfighter, Slave-1, CTT, etc.. This will be my 4th Slave-1, I'm a sucker for that ship  . I'd like to spend my money on something I haven't got a number of time already.

No. I'm pretty sure they can be seen in the background of the Battle of Coruscant scene in the beginning of Revenge of the Sith. If I had to guess, I'd say that the whole 'Imperial' thing is just a mistake on TLG's part, and that V-wings, like the ARC-170s, will make an appearance in the CW series. Although, admittedly, I can't remember if the V-wings at Mustafar were red and gray or just gray. I'd guess that the set will be the red and gray ones.

Yes, Adi Gallia was in the T-6 Jedi Shuttle in the episode where they rescued the 'resurrected' Eeth Koth from the hands of Grievous. It's not impossible but kinda unlikely considering Adi Gallia is not as popular as Shaak or the other more prominent jedis. I'd rather have the other Adi (Mundi) or Shaak over her anyday.

Ok, Wow, I've never noticed the V-Wings during the opening fight scene of RoTS even if if I watched it a hundred times already. default_wacko.gif. Maybe I was just noticing the Venators, ARC-170s, Eta-2 JSFs too much that I never noticed them. I think I'll have closer look later at the movie. It would be great to see these V-Wings finally appear in TCW Season 3, following the debuts of ARC-170/CTT (RoTS vehicles) in Season 2.

No, that was a different shuttle, a predecessor of the imperial shuttle.

Oh yeah I forgot, now I remember, thanks for correcting me Oky. It was Mace and Obi who were in the T-6 Shuttle when they held Bane captive.

I couldn't see any V-Wings at the start. I didn't see any V-Wings at Mustafar either, but when Darth Vader is being flown in the shuttle from Mustafar, there are some V-Wings accompanying it, and you can clearly see they still have the red colour scheme. However, at the end, with the grey Venators are some grey V-Wings. I'm almost certain that the V-Wings that are released are these (i.e. grey, or maybe some other design).

I actually missed lots of details, such as the appearance of Tantive 4 and Palpatine's Shuttle (I can't believe I didn't recognise the ship!). I haven't watched the movie closely for years, anyway.

I would say "Imperial" is no mistake and it is the one from the final scene of RotS with Vader, Tarkin and Palpatine, being dark grey and probably having either a TIE fighter pilot or a black clone pilot. (They were really fast in painting over all those republic red btw, and still it took them 19 years to build the Death Star?)

Though I hope it might be a republic one, with the pilot we had in Palpatines shuttle (phase 2 pilot with enclosed helmet). Would be more useful to me! An imperial one is completely off the timelines all the other ships were from.

I just hope they continue with the trend of bringing out PT sets, not only the CW ones. This year ARC170, Tri fighter and Palpis shuttle were so nice! It's good to see they didn't forget PT!

Um... I'm pretty sure there was a time lapse in that scene...

Either way, it shouldn't take that long to repaint a fleet of ships.

Personally, I'd rather see that black V-Wing shown a few pages ago. I prefer the colour scheme, and it would fit in well with the rest of my small Imperial ship collection.

If there are 2 clone troopers in one of the BP's, mabey they'll be waxer n' boil!

I just hope for another, cheaper chance to get the kashyyyk scout.

Taking a look at whether the sets will be from Season 2 or 3 of Clone Wars, let's consider the 2010 release timetable:

Season two of Clone Wars was broken into two parts, first in Fall from 10/2/09 to 12/4/09, and then after about a month break the second half went from 1/1/10 to 4/30/10.

Lego sets 1st wave

Freeco Speeder - 1st season

Greivous Starfighter - mainly seen in 1st season

ARC-170, Droid Trifighter - Seen often in both seasons

Leg sets 2nd wave

Cad Bane Speeder - 2nd Season

Turbo Tank - Featured more in season 2, might be in season 1 as well

Plo Koon Starfighter - Plo Koon's in Both seasons, but I believe his starfighter is just season 2

So if we consider 2010 as the precedent, my bets on the first wave Clone Wars sets to be from Season 2, and the second wave will be Season 3 sets. Though Season 3 starts in the Fall so it's not totally out of the question for some Season 3 sets in early 2011.

There are some serious mistakes but first I say something to my theory:

Summer 08 wave only had sets based on the movie (V-19, Magna starfighter, AT-TE, Twilight) or completely bashed together from the movies and videogames (IFT-X tank, Droid HMP, Homming Spiderwalker with Commander Fox).

Spring 09 saw some more unconnected sets with random figure choices (Nu-Shuttle and Mace Windu, Battlepacks) but it was mainly based on season one (AAT and Yoda, Ahsokas JSF from Ryloth, Hyena Bomber from Ryloth episodes, Dookus Solar Sailor)

Summer 09 stayed with season one (Gunray shuttle from Jar Jar episode, Y-Wing, Pirate Tank), went back to the movie (Snail tank and Jettroopers) and mixed some sets and figs nonsensical (Venator with Palpatine and Senate Commandos).

Spring 10 had only one set based on the show (Freeco Speeder, season one) and the other presumably CW sets are more of Revenge of teh Sith sets as to the show (Swamp Speeder with Life-Action design figs, Tri Fighter was never in season 1 or 2, ARC-170 has Life-Action style figs and the appearance in Zillo Beast seems like a coincedence).

This summer brought us again season 1 (Grievous starfighter, Cad Bane Speeder) and season 2 (Juggernaut, Plo Koons JSF).

It seems like our first 2011 wave only includes CW themed sets from season 2 (Mando BP, Bounty Hunter gunship, T6 Shuttle), so I guess that we maybe get exclusive TRU/Walmart sets based on season 3 with Shaak Ti or we first get season 3 themed sets next summer.

Well your hypothesis at the end is reasonable, but your facts are wrong!

Greivous SF was in the 2nd wave, ARC-170s and Tris were not in both seasons, Cad banes speeder and Plo's SF were 1st season. :classic:

This whole V-wing thing is an interesting debate, it's still strange why they have an Imperial tag on it....

In 7 days, you guys have posted 20 pages of Star Wars 2011 rumors and suspicions; WOW! I think it's fair to say that this topic is pretty hot for having nothing really concrete at the moment.

Don't forget, there might be a few sets that we don't know about yet...

Theoretically speaking, that's about 420 pages by January 1, 2011! That's just insane.

Just wait until preliminary images leak! :oh3:

Oh my, I never even noticed that we already had 20 pages of discussion in a week! Really nice, it's great to know more and more members actively participating in the discussions lately (including me ). Just goes to show that either (a) people are really very excited about the upcoming sets, or (b) the exact opposite

Either way, people love talking about stuff that's split down both ends.

It's highly unlikely they'll include two characters (Waxer & Boil) in the BP, it'll still be two regular clones (hopefully with new helmet molds/prints), primarily for army-building which is the main purpose of BPs. A Kashykk trooper is not impossible, but I'm betting my money on CW ARF troopers (Lightning Squadron types).

Maybe Phase 2 troopers? :oh3:

I most certainly hope so, but with the CW series not quite at Phase 2 yet, I highly doubt it. I probably won't buy it anyways, so it doesn't bother me. I have a rule: If it has a clone in it, and it's not on sale, I probably don't want it. That rule's given me a Mon Cal Cruiser, the Battle of Endor, Echo 'Base', both Hoth BPs, and the Visual Dictionary for just under $200, plus a ton of Merchandise Credit at the LEGO store that will soon turn into a Tantive IV. :classic:

Doc's right, it's highly unlikely since the CW series is just about to enter Phase 2, with the so-called Phase 1.5 troopers making their appearance on Season 3. I'm sure once the Phase 2 troopers appear (or is scheduled to appear) in an upcoming series (Season 4/5?), we'll definitely get them in a BP.

Indeed. I like making theories and seeing if they turn out to be true...

Yes, there probably are some more sets for the first wave. However, I don't watch the Clone Wars (mainly because I don't have pay TV) so I don't know what to expect. More clones and medium-sized ships, that's what I want...

For all we know the naboo set could be based on the episode: Blue shadow virus.

Klaus-Dieter saw the retailers catalog and said it was going to be a larger battle droid carrier with a few gungans.

I do believe him, even though I would rather it be from the CWs episode because we would probably get some new minifigs.
