The Chaos at Hoth

Recommended Posts

Well, brickfoot beat me to it, but oh well. I hope you like this one too; as his it depicts the Hoth Rebels defending in vain their base, laser fire raining down on them as they make a desperate yet heroic last stand against the Empire's AT-ATs, AT-STs and seemingly endless snowtroopers.

16x16 vignette includes:

- Rebel cannon on turret

- Two Rebel troops charging at Imperials

- Rebel troop captain jumping over snowfort

- Random clumps of snow

- Two new techniques for laser fire and minifig feet sinking into the snow

The main view.

Same thing but from behind...

A rebel charges at the oncoming Imperials.

Another rebel about to launch a thermal detonator at them.

And lastly, their experienced captain leaps over the Rebel snowfort, posing for the camera in slow-motion. ;)

This vignette was a great oppurtunity for me to show off my new crystal-laser fire technique for the cannon turret.

By the way, KimT, I hope I'm not breaking the rules for this - the vignette is not exactly 16x16, but rather 16x16.5. I hope you'll forgive me, I took the liberty thinking it would be accepted ;)

You can watch the scene here:

Enjoy, and good luck with the contest! :D

Do you have a link to your offsite folder?

I can try to deeplink one for you and then explain what I did.

Well, I'm not really the best person to consult regarding this since I'm no IT expert, I just know that flickr accepts both .jpg and .jpeg files. I once tried uploading .bmp files but it wasn't accepted.

Anyways, here comes KimT to the rescue. He'll surely be able to help you.

It's actually pretty simple to deeplink pictures...here, I'll show you how to do the "main picture".

I'm assuming that this is your main pic, right?

So, at that link above, click "all sizes", then "medium". Then right click the picture and click "copy image address" or "copy image location". Then go back to EB, edit your post, and click this picture: picture.png. After clicking it, paste the copied link into the box and click insert image; it should look like this:

If you want to link the image to your Flickr photostream, grab the photostream link, highlight what you put on your edited post (you can see it in the codebox above), and click this: link.png. Then paste the link to your photostream and click "insert link". The code should be like this:

Your final result will be this, a picture with a clickable link:

4718639858_80c06403b1.jpg

And then you repeat the process with the rest of the pictures. I hope my tutorial was clear enough. :classic:

Indeed, but I think this is not the right place to discuss it. Unless, ofcourse, you want Kim to lose his temper?

If that is your entry in Pi's post, I love it! How you made the snow is super, and the trooper jumping over the wall is a nice touch! Well done!

Simple and very clean entry.

It's great to have such a smooth & sleek entry.

Everything is depicted perfectly without being too crowded.

It's nice to finally see your entry Raphy, it';s a pretty decent MOC I must say. Though the snow looks too smooth for me, maybe a few rough spots (studs) here and there will improve it. Well, best of luck in the contest!
