So how did you discover Eurobricks?

For me, it was when I was a regualar at FBTB and Colin locked a thread made my Jipay about the new JSF and VD set (respect the brick and such), so I PM'ed Jipay asking if he could link me to the pics and he linked me to a topic here on Eurobricks... and then I joined and started posting here.

So what's your story?

Oh, you never heard the story of the Eurobricks trio? Well, it began like this..

One dark, stormy night I was posting away at FBTB, rather reluctantly as I was getting fed up of that place. Suddenly I got a PM from DoubleT, telling me to come help them unite Europe. I decided to go check it out and I joined up, several minutes later Sam89 signed up as well, and 22 minutes later than me ApophisV signed up too! A very productive night for Eurobricks, 3 admins in 22 minutes! I don't think we will ever forget those minutes, well.. at least Apo wont!

I remember back in September 2002 I began posting on those horrible message boards at LEGO.com and by about March 2003 I'd had enough of them so I went looking for a better LEGO message board. Unfortunately I couldn't find one so I somehow continued to post at LEGO.com. By April 2005 I could bare them no more so once again I went in search for a better message board. I typed "LEGO message board" into Google and it came up with a Wikipedia article with a link to Eurobricks. So I signed up and immediately began marking my territory. X-D

Had I known about Eurobricks earlier I would have definitely signed up earlier to leave those horrible LEGO.com message boards long behind!

Well Jon's pretty much summed up my story. I also got a PM from DoubleT, and joined less than 22 minutes after Jon (and less than 22 minutes before Apo X-D ).

I just recently got out of these horrendous dark ages with SW and I was browsing the net to find old sets and news !!

Found FBTB, EB and Rebelscum. At first I lurked only the mainpages for news and then I wanted to be part of a community, so after looking in depth on the message boards/forums, EB was the obvious choice ;-)

I think I got here first by being linked from FBTB...which I grew hating at that time. Bloody goddamn community spirit there...X(

But here it was nice and comfy and deliciously off-topicky...so I came to stay. And that is how my story goes kids and gentlefellows ^^

I remember going through all the links to community sites on Lego Fan and after watching several different sites for a while I decided to sign up here X-D

I first saw this site when someone posted a link to it from Classic Castle, but i didn't join untill a few months later, when the Vikings came out, and there were reviews here, and now I don't know why I waited before joining; this place is great. :'-)

I found EB from BZpower also, when they linked to some breaking news story that EB had scooped.

When I seriously got into SW LEGO, I deliberately went looking for any specific sites and found FBTB. I joined and posted there for months and was happy for the first few. Then it just started getting so aggressive and intollerant. I openly voiced that we must have been putting off new members. Their mantra became "USE THE SEARCH BUTTON". So, I'd heard of EB and had a look. This coincided with a run-in with cello-colin with various threats of being banned.

So, here I am

Well after i having to endure fbtb's strict rules and a certain power mad mod with the intials CC i decided to have a search for other sites and that when i came across this site in its original format, i liked what i saw joined up and the rest is history.

Ahhh to think when i joined there was only around 6 regular poster, how times have changed. :-)

i also was a member of fbtb for a long time but a good year or more ago the forum went down for a week or more. i never really got into their forum either so went looking elsewhere. i had all ready seen eurobricks thanks to sam89 posting links to pics of the then new tie collection. which i am afraid to say i said they were fake (boy was i wrong). i never went back to fbtb because of their stupid respect the brick crap! why keep pictures of new sets to themselves i will never know, they have been scooped so many times. anyway eurobricks is a great community and i would never want to go back to fbtb.

But it has been a long time since the last time, hasn't it? ^^ I reckon CC isn't one of the best persons on the planet... sarcasm is a weapon of the weak...that's why I never mastered it.

I am happy though, that there is a community like EB, which is so cool, that even teenage Ewoks get erections!
