Captain Green Hair Posted October 19, 2010 Thanks for all the kind words guys! Your 8 wide version is exactly how TLG should have done it. I'm not very satisfied with the 6 wide version. I'll have to work out how to make it 8 wide. If you have any hint, that would be great, I'm new to trains. So any info is welcome. I'm kinda new to trains myself, making it look like a train is 1 thing, making it run smoothly is however another. If you're going to power it with 9V motor (assuming you mean the tender mod), there's no reason to even have the gears at all... just remove them, all they do is create friction. You can put in different gears, to keep the wheels running simultaneously, this works better when you have a pushrod across the wheels. It really helped my BR22:
Master of Legos Posted September 11, 2011 You know, I observed you have 9v motors, so perhaps you could connect the lights to the 9v motors instead of the battery box?
Captain Green Hair Posted September 12, 2011 You know, I observed you have 9v motors, so perhaps you could connect the lights to the 9v motors instead of the battery box? That is possible, but then you do not have a constant light. For instance, when you drive slower, the light dims. That is why I used a separate battery box.
