Today's bit of pre-content guff is about the methodology of choosing the suffixes for the models, i.e. why is this "Model C" and why is that "Model F". These brick boxes all include an idea book which shows instructions for 3-4 models, with pics of others you can download. Models from included instructions get the first "slots", then it goes in order of appearance on the download page.

Some colors are not in LDD

Just checked and both errors seems to be illegal designs from TLG, so not much to do.

Sometimes people ask The Gnac, "how do you get such vivid transparent bits on yer LDD preview immidges?" And I tell them: "you need to load the immidge into a photo editor and duplicate it as a layer (or three). This makes the normally weak transparencies much stronger." (No-one ever actually asked me this)

- According to LEGO.com's inventory, 48495 Sword, No. 1 is colored Silver. All pictures of the set show the sword in Metallic Sand Blue instead, and I'm pretty sure that this was the correct color, so this LXF uses Metallic Sand Blue. It is possible, albeit unconfirmed, that later production runs used Silver instead.

I thought I'd try and start actively contributing to the wonderful official sets made in LDD topic, as I noticed many Constraction sets were missing from it. Please let me know if there is anything wrong with them and I will swiftly attend to the faults, but hopefully they're problem-free. I'm aware 40117 may not be ideal since it's an extremely rare polybag and instructions don't seem to be available online, so I understand should you choose not to index it :classic:

Your entries are very good, but you should fix the images.

Your images need to be cropped (borders around the subject have to be completely removed).

Besides some image could be a little enlarged (for any doubt contact me in private, if you want).

Sent you a PM (though I'm not sure if my PM is working correctly with regards to receiving messages, so it would also be helpful to reply here too). Unfortunately, while I have revised screenshots on my computer, ready to upload, Brickshelf has decided not to work for me at all today so I can't update them just yet :hmpf:

EDIT: Just updated Brickshelf and the pictures have auto-updated themselves. Are these new pics any better?

  • Part 15353 cannot be connected due to a collision error with part 98592 (both of them) on the body - has had to be placed "floating" one stud forward from where it's supposed to connect. Another collision error with the same 98592 prevents the two Titanium Metallic 90639/14533 (they are the same part in LDD) on the body from being positioned as per the instructions.
