So, let's go. My first "real" post on this topic.

It's a small one, just to see if everything is ok. I tried to follow the rules, tell me if anything is wrong.

6270 - Forbidden Island - Theme: Pirates - LXF File (LDD 4.3.8)

Errors:

• Missing prints/decorations for minifigs (replaced by others), flags, hat, wall elements, bird - Not present in LDD
  
• Missing decorations for base plate - Created myself
  
• Missing 1x Stairs (4784) - Not present in LDD - Replaced by costum solution

The entry is almost fine, thanks.

I took the liberty to fix the list (you used a list for each point instead than a single list with more points) and the set's link in brickshelf (a direct link instead than a search link).

Even if the set is not huge, the 512x size is adequate because it is very "cumbersome" (otherwise size such as 448 or 416 would be more adequate).

The only issue is that the image is not cropped horizontally: you should remove the blank vertical stripes on the left and on the right side.

6270 - Forbidden Island - Theme: Pirates - LXF File (LDD 4.3.8)

Hi Elog,

Just a couple quick corrections that can be made to your LXF regarding colors. 6270 Forbidden Island, being released prior to 2004, uses LEGO's older brown and grey colors. Generally, the best set inventory to reference for colors and parts is the one provided by LEGO's online services, since these use the same names and identification numbers used in LEGO Digital Designer. Where available, you can find these on Brickset's "Parts" tab; unfortunately, 6270's inventory isn't available through LEGO.com and thus Brickset uses Rebrickable's inventory, which does not use the same color names as LEGO Digital Designer (for instance, what Rebrickable calls "Brown" is what LEGO Digital Designer calls "Earth Orange", and what LEGO Digital Designer calls "Brown" is what Rebrickable calls "Dark Flesh").

Still, as a basic rule of thumb for sets released prior to 2004, use "2 - Grey" for light grey, "27 - Dark Grey" for dark grey (which I see you used correctly), and "25 - Earth Orange" for brown. You can find all three colors under the "Legacy" tab on the color chart ("27 - Dark Grey" is obscured on the menu provided by the Paint Tool, but you can access it with the "Filter bricks by color" option on the Brick Palette). For sets released after 2004, use "194 - Medium Stone Grey" for light grey, "199 - Dark Stone Grey" for dark grey, and "192 - Reddish Brown" for brown.

As I said, you used "Dark Grey" correctly in this LXF. All you need to do is switch "Medium Stone Grey" to "Grey" and "Reddish Brown" to "Earth Orange". Also, the flag pieces should be colored "1 - White" and the blue torsos should be colored "23 - Bright Blue". Other than that, your LXF looks good, so far as I can tell at first glance.

There's loads of Racers stuff missing! I am going to do something about this.

So I will be posting all the models wot were released in canisters and polybags year-by-year, day-by-day until they are done. Although I have about 36 models done already, I thought it would be best to split everything up for these reasons:

• There is most likely a character limit for posts here, and doing everything at once will probably trigger it.
  
• I once had a mouse with a broken scroll wheel and it was a NIGHTMARE to do stuff.
  
• Calabar will be up all night cataloguing my doings.

Tiny Turbos is my #1 favorite theme! It's something about how you can create a cool expression with just a few bricks!

Oh, as a big fan of Creator Minis (and a hopeless Creator polybag collector), I can see the genius in small things. I like how many Racers sets are in the same scale as the die-cast cars that my little nephew plays with, and he enjoys shooting these pull-back Ferraris along a most bizarre stunt track system (and yet the designs are rugged enough not to explode into bits). He used set 30196 as obstacles to smash into. I worry about him.

I was so impressed by those Ferrari promo sets, that I suddenly got interested in the Racers theme, and I now regret not doing so sooner. I'm a bit worried about not being able to get a full collection - I must have all the official bags / canisters and instructions. Cripes knows how much a complete 30036 - Buggy Racer would cost.

I also like how some of the parts made it into other sets, such as the "racers guard" in the Mini Digger. I'll be incorporating some of these specific parts into MOCs soon, so I really appreciate that they exist, both for real AND in LDD.

On a related note: some of the boxed sets include instructions for multiple vehicles, but also include "combination" builds within the same booklet - for example, page 21 of set 8152 shows some combination builds, and I have no idea how to categorise these. I was thinking of labeling each build as they appear in the instructions as 8152a, 8152b, etc., ...but my mind imploded when I got to page 21.

In fact, I was planning to make them all in LDraw (although most of them are already made by C3POwen in the LDraw topic) and render them all and make a big poster of it and print it (on a real poster size). I started and already got like 5% of the poster, but then I didn't had enough time anymore and I forgot it...

Introducing - in my never-ending quest for Technic Star Wars - C3P0. It wasn't a hard one, and I actually appreciate the simplicity of the mechanism. There were some tricky connections though (but nothing the LDD tricks couldn't handle), unflexible flex hoses and the usual stuff too. And when looking at it without the stickers, for once I recommend the use of the DSS.
