Errors:

Missing 3857 (round corners) replaced by 2748 (sharp corners).

2× 74340 are preassembled in LDD, total part count thus is 2987 instead of 2989.

Bricks and plates are not as bendable in LDD as they are in real life, so the roofs don't fit as smoothly as they should. Maybe some connections are simply illegal, from a strict point of view.

Anyway, one segment can't get fully attached and thus one black 2780 can't be put in place.

Two bright red 32062s can't be put in place, as they won't fit into dark stone grey 3022s' antistuds (instruction 1 figures 31-34 & 37).

Two white 3069s can't be put in place, as they would each collide with a sand yellow 6587's knob (instruction 4 figures 6-7).

Remarks:

The Bricklink inventory erroneously lists white 3001s, where actually 3002s are meant.

. The same applies to the roof shells: LDD simply can't twist and bend axles and large plates as real life can. Maybe the designers assumed that if you have built this set for real, it's unlikely you are ever disassembling it, so malformed parts and cold flow wouldn't be much of a problem. This segment isn't held by much more than those two axles and one single connector peg, so it has to be a stable connection. Maybe too stable for LDD.

As vean picks all the easy sets, I had to choose something challenging.

No, seriously, this set clearly shows the limits of LDD concerning tight fitting of parts and 3D-turning and -aligning beyond the xyz-axes. Instructions 1 & 2 are rather straightforward. But as soon as you reach the roof shells, you'll probably regret having started this set in LDD.

Anyway, I would greatly appreciate if someone does some hi-res POV-Ray renderings of this set. None of my machines is powerful enough to attain acceptable results in a reasonable period of rendering time.

I just took the pieces out, and it's even visually clear that the x-axle will not be perpendicular to the other bricks. No matter how you press, it will "pop back up" a tiny amount.

It's odd that the designers used this solution, because using a 3700 would solve the problem.

As a matter of fact, I am building this set in LDraw and I'm planning to do several renders when i am done. But that won't be your LDD file. I also noted a small discrepancy in the instructions where a plate disappears and reappears some steps later on, so there could be more.

I found a few errors in the model (see attached modded LXF):

- Light Yellow parts should be Dark Stone Grey, not Medium Stone Grey

- Lime part was missing and should be black

- Medium Azure part was missing and should be red

- Pink parts should be black, not Medium Stone Grey

You can copy/use the fixed model in the attached LXF if you want.

About the steering wheel...that is a very odd issue. I can't position it either, and looking from the model (see image in capture.zip), I can't understand how that can even fit in the physical model, since the collision error is so severe.

Is there anyone out there that has actually built this model for real, and can post a picture of how the steering wheel attachment look?
