Known Inaccuracies:

- Support 6x6x10 Stanchion (2681) replaced with an approsimative brick build solution

- Technic Rack Winder (202) replaced with a brick build solution (note: in one case, gear removed in order to be able to assemble the station)

- Technic Rack Winder Axle (200) replaced with a brick build solution

- Technic Rack 1x20x2/3 (2428) replaced with a brick build solution

- Panel 3x2x5,2/3 (2448) replaced with a brick build solution

- Baseplate 32x32 with Craters (3947a) missing: I used the same very stylized alternative I create for the set 6930.

- Bar 1x6 with Studs Open (4873) replaced with Bar 1 x 6 with Studs Close (6140)

- Wedge Plate 3x4 without Stud Notches (4859) replaced with Wedge Plate 3x4 with Stud Notches (48183)

- I used minifig head with hollow stud (3626b) instead than old type (3626a)

- Many decorations missing, replaced if possible.

- The Hose 73590c01b don't connect properly to the underlying 6x2 plate among studs.

Comments:

One of my favourite Space stations, maybe because it is imposing. I don't love Blacktron's colours, but I appreciate the use of the Transparent Yellow instead then the Transparent Neon Green.

This set was not so simple to realize, there was various part I had to replace with brick build solutions. All these solutions are grouped inside the lxf file. In a pair of situation I had to fine tuning to assemble different parts of the space station, and modify the brick build solution to achieve that.

Renders can look a lot better for sure, but they can also vary a lot depending on setup, lighting, shadows, color definitions etc. I suppose in this kind of "reference" topic it's better to have a more standardized and neutral look. I think in the Ldraw topic however it makes more sense to allow renders since there are so many different editors anyway.

But let's hear what Calabar says also.

Once again, I forgot that. I have one, and the pics I post here are hosted there, but I haven't post since december more or less so I forgot a LOT of things about posting here... like uploading images there and not here.

Aww, that rule... should be deleted. The real work is the physical model, if you don't have it or can't have it (my case ) the closest thing would be a render. At least, if you took the time to render it should be allowed to post it with the LXF. Anyway, just my POV...

About renderings, the aim of the thumbnail is to show the CAD model, not the real model. We all know the real model and there are many databases that reports images of it. A screenshot is a good way to evaluate in a glance the quality of the work made by the builder.

I don't aim to a shining showcase, but to a useful one.

About the set 1069, the size of the rendering was much better. 512x pixel size is for large set and 1069 is very small and compact (the image should be no more than 256x pixel). Same thing for 1425.

I've seen you didn't "text-linked" the rendering in your post, as you already did it, it could be a good addition to your entry.

Calabar, I found some WAY off for your base. The craters are supposed to be the same color as the base.

The baseplate is only a draft. I used a dark colour to give a false sense of deepness and make it more visible.

Obviously if someone would share a better version of the moon baseplate I will replace it in my sets.

I meant to do that by myself but I didn't produce nothing that satisfied me, so I prefer to leave the stylized version.

PS: remember that images can't be quoted in this topic.

There are almost ever missing parts and errors in LDD file, due to bugs, limitations and an incomplete bricks palette.

If we should wait that every parts is available, we will have few sets in the index.
