What was the last movie you watched?

Rented GI Joe Retaliation and World War Z. GI Joe was okay. My 11 yo son really liked it. I really liked WWZ. It was an interesting take on the zombie genre, but it had absolutely nothing in common with the book other than the title. And if you listened really carefully in the beginning, you heard mention of African rabies. Still prefer my zombies slow and clumsy though!

Watched Skyfall last night thanks to Netflix streaming.

It was definitely better than Quantum of Solace (I don't remember anything about that movie other than Olga Kurylenko). I think Casino Royale might be the best out of the three new Bond movies though. I liked the new one overall, but there were parts that were unbelievable (which is to be expected, but not to this extent).

Javier Bardem did do a good job as the villain, but he isn't my favorite villain by any means.

Orc Wars. So bad it's okay. Not much of it is new, but kudos for being the only movie I know of with orcs in USA, and in the present day too.

Ok let's see what I watched within the past 3 days:

Thor 2 - Loved it! Loki was awesome!

Free Birds - Saw it with a younger cousin, it was somewhat fast-paced but there were some funny moments.

Grown Ups 2 - The first one was better. Still funny!

Curse of Chucky - Only the umptheenth time I've watched this. I love Chucky, and this movie is great!

Ender's Game. I feel bad that people are boycotting it because of philosophical differences with the author (for the record, I share those differences, but I accept he's got his views). It was very good, not great, but well produced and reasonably followed the book, and deserves to do we'll enough for the sequels to be produced.

As someone who doesn't go to the movies very often, I was happy with my choice.. We all read the book, and were happy with the movie.

For kids? Yeah, heart eating, head crushing, sexual themes, and prostitutes are totally kid friendly material! I was shocked how dark it was!

I thought it was good too, and I actually thought that the bookend with the kid was an interesting narrative device. It allowed Tonto to be an unreliable narrator, as well as a nice nod to how natives actually share stories: orally. I felt, although awkward at times, it made sense, and I can see what they were trying to accomplish.

Sat down and watched Equestria Girls for a second time, and I can sort of see the flaws a bit more than through my first viewing, and there are flaws, but it was still really enjoyable. Probably more so since I finally caught everything, and sort of realize why Sunset Shimmer went Heel Face Turn at the end. As well, the animation was really good.

It sort of winds up being like the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. I'd say watching the series all the way through is mandatory to fully enjoy both films fully. (And I adore the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, by the way, so much so I'd put it in my top ten favourite animated films. ) I enjoyed Equestria Girls.

Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro

Just go watch this movie. I had no clue who Lupin was, and I adored the hell out of this movie! Starts of with a great car chase, and ends with a battle in a clock tower. I swear the writers of "The Great Mouse Detective", another of my favourite movies must of loved this film as well. Apparently Spielberg has stated the opening car chase is one of the best in film history, and I sort of agree. The characters were great, the set up was great, every moment memorable, I love this movie! Go find it, you won't be disappointed!

Downloaded Safety Not Guaranteed, I'd give it a 7/10; parts of it were really boring and mundane, and I wasn't a big fan of the ending. Still something worth watching when you have an hour and a half of free time.

Just saw "up" for the 3rd time in my life. I must say this movie is probably and will probably be the best animated movie I've ever seen. I've always felt like actual adventure was a huge miss in my (and everyone else's life). So to see this man who waited years to go with his wife to South America, and have her die before he goes on all these crazy adventures, was just sad, uplifting, funny, and everything you could ask for in a movie.
