Stormtrooper Helmet

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. :classic:

After seeing great maxifigs in the forum, I decided to start my own version. I will most likely only do the head and shoulders, but maybe, if I have any time, I will continue to expand it.

This was it a few days ago:

And now:

It is a WIP, so don't get too picky!

Suggestions and C&C are very welcome. I could do with some proffesional advise!

Btw, I'll update the thread every time I work on this in LDD.

It looks really good so far.

I cannot wait until I see the finished helmet.

If there was one thing that I would point out is that it is a bit blocky.

I am sure you will sort that out so good luck until then!

Looks good so far. I am not much into maxifigs myself, but I can understand the people that are.

Me neither, but you're doing a good job so far JD. I like the way you've done the eyes. I'd just suggest more of a bridge to the nose, and get the jaw to protude more: this pic is just a toy helmet, but makes the point:

Good luck! :classic:

Thanks everyone. :classic: I think it won't look as blocky when complete. Remember, it is LEGO, so It is bound to look blocky, eh?

An example of a LEGO set which is blocky:

Good point. I'll experiment around for a bit.

That picture is perfect for me btw!

Are you aiming for a helmet you can actually wear?

I was thinking about it, but then decided against it. The price tag would shoot up if I made it any bigger. :sceptic:

An interesting project.

It's not very easy to build this round Stormtrooper helmet.

When Burman said it's a bit blocky, I think he wants to explain that the helmet should be more round and not like a square.

well i've tried unsuccessfully to made one for my maxifig.

Here, you can see my three versions

Although the maul head is blocky, I think it looks pretty good. If your helmet is less blocky than maul then you are well onto the right track of making a sweet helmet. I can't wait.
