Sluban Air Force - F-15 Fighter Aircraft (M38-B7200)

Recommended Posts

This is part of the Sluban military/air force series. (M38-B7200). The F-15 aircraft is in a khaki-grey colour, total of 142 pieces, 2 minifigures. (1 pilot, 1 mechanic).

Overall an easy build and the design is quite nice. On to the pictures. (I lost the instruction manual so no pictures of that)

Excellent photography, yo :classic: ur treatment reveals both the blockyness the design, a natural consequence of using just a hundred or so bricks, and the custom parts used to produce the tails, stabilizers and missle/payload package show us exactly why this is a desireable set. A number of Chinese cloners have done this aircraft, Sluban's looks much better than others I've seen and built.

Thanks for posting this. I didn't really need a reminder why I prefer LEGO, but some clone brands manage to produce models that have a reasonably attractive design. As much as I dislike them, MegaBloks for instance, have produced models of military aircraft that weren't half bad, even if you do know that the finished product will never look as good as the picture on the box.

Even apart from the fact that this was produced by a clone-brand, I have to say that I feel this thing is a piece of rubbish. There's not a single angle from which it looks good. I understand that they want to limit the parts number, but there are a few pretty important bits missing too. Where the hell are the jet intakes and exhausts? If they're in the habit of producing specialised parts anyway they could have come up with a decent nose!

Ralph, Sluban creates very few original parts, they are a specialty cloner. They clone original Oxford sets. If you check out the homepages of Oxford (Korea) and Sluban (People's Republic of China) Sluban's page looks like a Chinese language mirror of Oxford's page. The good thing about Sluban is that Oxford is probably the second best brick company in the world, and they don't export at all, so if you want Oxford's military, town, sports or girl's lines, you can get them through Sluban. Also Sluban has reissued Oxford's train line.

Oxford of course is mad as hell over this theft of design, but can't do anything but complain on their website about cloners..............

I'm a little confused as to why he would have bolt cutters on the flightline.

What kind of aircraft maintenance is he doing?

Look at the smirk on his face too  Good review, but this set is pathetic, I mean, clone of Oxford? Why?

Only serves them right, I suppose, to have their own clones cloned. It's still a pretty poor design though, irrespective of whether it's by Sluban or Oxford.

Cheers,

Ralph

Thanks for posting.

I liked the design, but only until I take a better look at it!

But they will find buyers for this!

Their legs look so stupid, I really don't like how the feet are rounded, they look like little kid's when people use round studs for legs to make fig's smaller.

nice review, but I still think these clone sets stink. :alien:

That's a pair of linesman pliers not bolt cutters and it's the biggest pair I have ever seen, could you imagine it in real life size !

Thanks 'lampuair' for the review.

Must say nice go by this clone company, but the nose I dislike totally - too blocky - should have a cone nose like the real F-15

and the bricks seem to lock better than my MB A-10 'Warthog'.

Lego rocks - clones do not !!!
