The Box

Front:

Visible on the front of the box are two of the three components of the set, against a background of a foreign planet. Some nice touches are the laser shots and the MINI logo.

Back:

Here we can see the other three MINI sets from this series, as well as the third component from each set, which make up a TIE Bomber.

Side:

The side of the box, containing the standard multi-lingual warning.

Interior Cardboard:

Since the box is made of plastic, they included an interior fold-out piece of cardboard.

Since many of you are probably wondering if you can actually build on the brick that is built into the box, I decided to take a few pictures for you guys.

We can see that yes, you can build on the box, but.....

....Only in the corner. If you try to build on the centre, the box falls in on itself.

The image is the same as the box image, although I was expecting the fold out variety common in impulse sets.

Here are steps five and six. The only problem I found was distinguishing Dark Grey from Black, but luckily none of the parts are in both colours in this set.

Pieces:

All the pieces spread out....

Rare/Printed/Interesting Pieces:

Some nice printed pieces, along with quite a few useful Dark Red/Dark Blue and Sand Green pieces. My favourite has to be the 1x1 Trans-Black tile, though  .

Extra Pieces:

Some great extras, including two rare coloured 1x1 tiles.

The Build:

Jedi Starfighter:

The base is starting to take shape.

3824713504_b8cbb1ece8_o.jpg

The completed Starfighter. To the best of my knowledge, it looks quite accurate for this scale.

Slave One:

3823915805_70fa177aba_o.jpg

The base. Loving those Dark Blue headlight bricks.

3824719452_570162f5e7_o.jpg

The completed Slave One. Some very useful pieces in there.

TIE Bomber Section:

3824723034_b6bd35ccd6_o.jpg

The third piece of the set. A part of a TIE Bomber. Each of the four sets contains a piece of it, and when you have all of them, you can assemble a TIE Bomber.

Completed Set:

The set in all it's glory. I think it was well worth the price.

Verdict:

Minfigs: N/A

Parts: 9.5/10 Four wonderful printed parts along with useful pieces in rare colours.

Price: 9/10 I think $5.99 is very reasonable for a set like this. Not only are the parts great, it's also licensed and the models themselves are great.

Playability: 7/10 For a set this size, I don't think you can expect that much playability, but even so, it is rather fun to swoosh.

Design: 9/10 The designs look spot on, especially with the printed pieces.

Overall: 34.5/40 A great set, if I found it again, I would definitely snag it.

Thanks for the review RiceCracker. I own this set myself and love the printed pieces in it. You did a great review showing every detail and feature of the set.

Great review! I got the AT-ST and Snowspeeder MINI set instead of this. Iwas very impressed with this line, especially because it came with a cool sand blue (?) droid body. :classic:
