Lego Star Wars illustrations

I just found these browsing around. Pretty impressive to have been drawn with a mouse.

Looks great but the wookie looks like he is in need of a rest room break.

Well actually, I'd have been more impressed if he'd used anything else but the mouse. Don't get me wrong, the illustrations themselves are really well done. I just don't see why he has to point out the fact that he is only using a mouse, since Illustrator is a program that pretty much only works with that tool... you could use a wacom tablet, of course, but it'd only make your life a real pain in this case...

What? A tablet is harder than a mouse? I expected for drawing it would be easier? You're probably right as I have no experience of the program though.

Yes, a tablet is harder than a mouse. I tried using one once, thinking it would be easier :hmpf_bad: , but I think you would have to have been using one for a while to get the hang of it.

I've been using a tablet for seven years or so, and it's definitely not harder than a mouse. At first use, it's unusual, but once you've got the hang of it, mouses are primitive. Tablets are more precise and simulate the hand on paper experience, plus if you don't want to use the pen for something, they're bundled with a tablet mouse. If you like doing art on the computer, you should buy a tablet.

Interesting finds Skipper 24! Some of the proportions are a bit off (arms too long, legs awkward) but for the most part they're quite good. Boba Fett and Darth Vader are definitely my favorites. Still, I'm going to have nightmares about that Leia! Luke's hair reminds me of Captain Argyus from the Clone Wars

I didn't say that a tablet is harder than a mouse in general. I was only saying that for this particular case. If you use Photoshop, Painter or any other program of that kind, a tablet is definitely a must since it is actual drawing. But in the case of Illustrator, Inkscape or any program using vectors, you don't really draw per se. you define curves and shapes by placing summit points and stretching their tangents and the program calculates the lines for you. For example, if you want to draw a circle, you have to create 4 opposite points (like the 4 summits of a compass) and it will interpolate the curves of the line between them, creating the circle. So the real difficulty here, is placing the points at the right place to achieve the form you want. And that is much easier to do with a mouse than with a tablet...

It's a matter of personal opinion. I've got some experience in Illustrator, and I'd rather use a diji-pen than a mouse. In daily life, at work or on my wife's computer, I hate using a mouse. But a lot of that is my own conditioning.

As I wrote before, tablets come with mouses for those times you want/need to use them, so they seem like the better choice. But it depends on how you use them.

Don't click this link if you are on Internet Explorer 6, it sends a nice bit of Profanity your way. I'm not impressed.

Absolutely, it says this on a black screen. and it redirects my url here http://pixelatedgeek.com/ie6.html <<profanity warning

"

You seem to be using IE6.

Get *****d.

I'd give you links to better browsers, but who am I kidding? You're using IE6.

You're probably either too dumb or too stubborn to see reason, and I don't give a s*** if you see my site or not.

Love,

Joe from Hugs for Monsters"

Granted IE6 is old as dirt and I recognize this, at work, I am unable to control which version of IE i use. I just wanted to warn others who might not want to see it, I personally don't care, and it's definetaly not your fault.

Mod's if what I typed is not ok, please remove it, I was just re-typing what I saw on the site, I would never normally type like that on this site..
