Captain Green Hair Posted August 3, 2009 As a child i collected coins, i had quite a few in my book. Since our money ''disappeared'' as we got the Euro as currency, i started collecting again. I have 1 book of old Dutch coins from 1730 until the year 2000. I quite like the old coins, as they always have nice drawings on them like eagles, lions and what not. This time today, I collect as much money as I can ( who doesn't ) and LEGO coins. I only have 20 or so... I'd like to start a collection about VOC coins and more from that period though. Lord Of Pies Posted August 5, 2009 I have a few foreign or old coins. Amazingly I once found a 1791 halfpenny on the ground! I have a few Dollars, some Tunisian coins, and a few pennies from Victorian times. I don't really go out looking for them but when I encounter coins for sale I do occasionally buy them. Funnily enough yesterday I discovered this wonderful old shop that sold nothing but old nick-nacks, such as coins and comics and dinky cars, I was very tempted by some of the old coins but I was in such a rush to board the ferry, I didn't have time to search through the coins and buy something good. JimBee Posted August 5, 2009 I have all 50 U.S. State quarters (and some of the new kind too, like Washington D.C. and Louis Armstrong), as well as half-dollar coins, silver-dollars, and gold-dollars (with Sacajawea on it). I also collected every Euro coin while I was in Europe (penny through 2 Euro), and I've been given lots of foreign coins, from places like Puerto Rico, Mexico, and some old European coins, before the Euro. For me I have been collecting coins from the other parts of Great Britain such as the Isle of Man, and the Channel islands I also have coins from Imperial India and a very old but in fairly good condition coin from Imperial France with Louis V Not very exciting to anyone else but I have a one doller bill and when I have my own office when I'm making a living in the world I am going to frame it Kerching! The Who Posted August 6, 2009 I love coins, and, like others here, don't really go out looking for them but will buy or trade them on occassion.I have way too much to list, though. Most of them are American, as I live in the states. My foriegn ones are just everyday stuff, except for the British coins that were discontinued (Pounds). I am somewhat proud of all of my foreign money, eg. an Egyptian dollar, because I have yet to leave the states into a new country. I do have some rare stuff, but again, most of my stuff is American so my oldest coin is an 1865(?) Flying Eagle Penny. I think I have one coin in particular from Pre-World Wars I/II, that could possibly be from an 'extinct' country that dissapeared after the wars (I sure hope so ). I can't understand anything on it though, no idea what language it is in. All 50 U.S. State Quarters in a Big Collector book (Even includes a gold colored coin )I also have all of them, but they are in a big, flat, map of the USA. Each fits smugly into place inside or beside it's state. And that 'gold colored coin' is called a gold dollar. Not real gold. Nothing much special about them.Not very exciting to anyone else but I have a one doller bill and when I have my own office when I'm making a living in the world I am going to frame it.Is there something special about it?
