You know you are a fan of Lego when...

You know your a Lego fan when...

You go on a expedition in your house to look for old pieces you lost during your dark age. (I lost so many Lego pieces because of my dark age, including lots of pieces from some of the most classic Star Wars sets)

You have a dream that your Lego sets arrive, than you become depressed that there's still 2 more days left until they come.

You find a random Lego treasure chest on the floor of your laundry room when you bend over to pick up a shirt that fell. ( It still had gems and coins in it!)

You stop your nephews from noticing your Lego room to the best of your ability, If they already know, you STOP them from touching your bricks to the best of your ability. ( One of them kicked my Soldier's Fort)

Here is a good one:

You know you are a fan of LEGO when you never had a dark age.

(I played with LEGO as soon as my baby fingers could put two Duplo bricks together.)

...you realize your office would feel empty without some sort of LEGO creation on display.

...you rotate the LEGO display in your office in an attempt amuse coworkers and visitors.

...you base lunch decisions on proximity to a local store having a LEGO sale.

...you sneak out early for lunch to have extra time at the aforementioned sale.

...you work to train your dogs to not even sniff the open containers of LEGO on the floor.

...reading this list brings back good memories.

...when you are learning a foreign language and are trying to learn all the LEGO specific terms like "bley" and "stud" in that language. (By the way, my mother tongue is German  ).

Or just by learning terms like Instructions, Box, Piece(s), Minifig in at least three foreign languages

...when english is not your native language and when you hear the word "tile" in a non-LEGO related phrase, first thing that comes up in mind is a white 2x1 white LEGO tile.

Happened to me yesterday.

....you drive 1000+ miles across the country to go to your favorite LEGO Store just for a few small sets.

....you make sure that your LEGO display is organized perfectly.

....you dream of your neighbor's child moving out and having tons of LEGO, all of which you acquire.

When you try to figure out ways to convince your wife to let you get a new set.

It's tough, women don't understand grown men wanting to buy toys.

It's tough, women don't understand grown men wanting to buy toys.

Don't worry, there are women here on Eurobricks that understand.

You know you are a fan of LEGO when . . .

You buy more storage units for you LEGO than essentials like clothing or food.

You miss all the really interesting panels at Comic Con, but make sure to go to the BrickJournal (also interesting  ) and LEGO Star War Visual Dictionary panels.

You spend 90 percent of your time at the LEGO booth at Comic Con, thus missing out on almost everything else.

Even after spending lots of money at Comic Con (mostly on LEGO) you still want to check out LEGOLAND and see what they have.

You know you're a fan of LEGO when...

...you make models at home of engineering products at work, take the models to work and demonstrate new product concepts to the team.

...you exhibit models at work to over 50 people over lunch.

...you use LEGO models to support patent applications.

...you stack LEGO storage drawers higher than your head.

...you buy more freezer bags for your LEGO bricks than a large family would use in ten years.

...you readily recognise length by studs but need a ruler for millimetres and inches.

...you model every real thing you see at 1 stud to the foot in your head.

...you take on LEGO building projects that last for years.

...you have the loft or cellar done, the house extended, or an outbuilding built to make an additional LEGO room.

...you display LEGO models in your front window, for the appreciation of kids passing on their way to school.

...you buy a big car just so you can transport more LEGO.

...you buy over 70000 pieces in one go.

...your collection reaches 1 million pieces.

...you help TLG improve the product.

When you fight with yourself over why you put your favourite piece in a safe place where nobody would find it then you lose it yourself because that place is too safe

I did that with my "rare minifig pieces" bag. It had all my lightsabers, exclusive MF pieces, etc, etc. It has been gone for 3 months. :cry_sad:

... when at least one room of your house is just for Lego.

... when you are on this forum for over half the day.

... when you hear 2x4, or 4x6, etc, you instantly picture the Lego piece in your head.

... when you describe something's color as bley, or dark bley, or rown.

... when you know exactly how long an inch and foot are without a ruler, because you read about a set's length online and take out a ruler to see how big it is in real life. I do that all the time.

... when somebody insults Lego or says its a child's toy you want to punch them. :skull:

(Essential background info: I'm from India :classic: )

... when you use eBay to purchase Lego and nothing else but Lego

... when you call up long-lost friends / relatives and ask if you can ship Lego to their residence, and then ask them to bring it with them when they return to your home country

... when you subscribe to Paypal only to pay for your Lego :hmpf_bad:

... when you set your alarm to 3AM just because an eBay Lego auction ends at that time

... when MLCAD is your most frequently accessed computer application

... when you build a custom shelf in your apartment just for Lego

... when you immediately realise the shelf is too small :cry_sad:

... when you teach your Dad how to bid on eBay just because a Lego auction ends when you are at work (@#$$%%% firewall  ; btw auction was two baseplates $8 closing bid  )

... when you share all these experiences on Eurobricks

Cheers,

Shailesh.
