[Review] 20009 Mini AT-TE

Recommended Posts

indexed.gif

Hi everyone! For my first review here, I present the latest and possibly greatest Brickmaster Exclusive Mini-model- The AT-TE!

I know a few reviews are already out, but I thought I'd share my own opinion.

Set Name: AT-TE Walker

Set #: 20009

Theme: Star Wars-Clone Wars

Pieces: 94

Minifigures: 0

Original Price: N/A, Brickmaster Exclusive (est. value, $6 USD)

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for..... the review!

POLYBAG:

Polybag with 8031 Mini V-19 Torrent

007.jpg

Polybag:: Thoughts: The bag was MUCH bigger than I expected- I thought it would be about the size of the V-19 Torrent bag.

And out come the contents!

Instructions:: Thoughts: Nice Instructions but the fold in half makes the booklet hard to keep open/photograph. They didn't have to fold it- it would fit in anyways as pictured below.

PIECES:

The bag contains only one mini-bag.

Loose pieces

All Pieces

Pieces:: Thoughts: Nice selection, but nothing too uncommon. The battle droid torsos are nice, as well as the various clips and red pieces.

THE BUILD:

Very quick, fun build.

At Step 5, the base is built.

At Step 10, more details are added to the body.

023.jpg

At Step 15, most of the body is done. The places where the legs attach are done as well.

And after 21 steps, the product is done!

027.jpg

Build:: Thoughts: Quick, easy, nice build. What else would you get from a mini-model?

Finished Product:: Thoughts: Nice model with nice colors. Printed pieces would be a great way to add more detail, but it's pretty nice already.

EVERYTHING ELSE:

Time for those little odds and ends!

_____________________________________

Time for all the stats!

Price: 9/10 Brickmaster Exclusive but apparently each set has an "estimated value of $6 USD". I would buy this for $6 USD if it weren't exclusive, and the Brickmaster package is a good deal.

Parts: 7/10 Good selection, but a lot of gray.

Minifigs- N/A

Build- 10/10 Quick and easy, just like a mini-model should be.

Playability 5/10 The legs can't realistically move, but the gun swivels. It's intended for display.

Overall: 31/40 Not a bad set. Pretty good pieces, nice model. What more could you ask for? The instructions would have been nicer flat, but once it's built, that problem is gone!

Hope you enjoyed my first review! I would love your feedback and comments!

Thanks for the review. :classic:

Two reviews of an exclusive set in two days is pretty quick for a set this small.

It does look a bit small (for a 100 piece set) after the comparison picture with the V-19 Torrent and General Grievous' Starfighter mini sets (thanks for the picture by the way).

wow this has been reviewed a few times in a short space of time. I like the comparison shot of the mini and the normal sized AT-TE you took. It makes the mini look so mini  . The clone on the mini just made me crack up

Great review!!

Hey hey hey!

Looks better than I expected when I saw the first pics.

Do you have the older version of the mini AT-TE as well?

Would love to see a pic that directly shows the difference between them both.
