MOC: Shell tanker

Recommended Posts

Here is my MOC Shell tanker, 6-wide semi-trailer design.

I always liked Shell tankers and stations from the early 70's when I first got into Lego,

and when I saw set 1252-1 a few years ago, I thought it was far too small and unrealistic.

So I made this..... :cry_happy:

What do you think ?

What a lovely truck.

I like your design a lot. It is far superior to the 1252-1.

Took me some fiddling to get to your brickshelf folder.

You might want to consider adding that to your signature.

For all others, here is the link to the BS folder: Linky to BS folder

I see you made some other great trucks as well.

What is the fuel-tank under your Octan truck design?

Is that a costum part?

Kind regards,

Teddy

A very nice truck! It looks very European and scaled well to your buildings and minifig.

Great work.

Very nice moc and I'll like to say that I'll buy it too if its an actual set. I just wonder whether the tank itself should be just a bit taller?

It's a really nice truck

I also liked that design instantly when I saw it about seven years ago.

And it's still a great design. We all need inspiration ...

Awesome!!

I always wondered how a 6-stud wide Shell Tanker would be. :classic:

Anyway, Lego Shell tankers have come a long way from the mid 80s tankers. The set below is 6695 from the year 1984.

I assume you mean the chrome silver tanks !(?) I concider them as quite unusual, and they were part of a Lego 4 Juniors,

set 4652, which I bought two set of, just to get those tanks, back in 2003 ! Lego ref = 45408, I saw there were a few on BL.

Size of them are rather 1,5 x 4 studs, so in between the two tanks I put 3 x 3701 (Technic brick 1x4) + over them some

half-stud tiles to get the complete package in center of the 6-wide truck.

Here are the two trucks that I have, with those special fuel tanks.

I really dig your trucks. I'm particularly fond of the colour blocking in the tanks on your tankers.

Great job! :D

You are a very good truck builder!

I like the mud flaps and the use of the official colors of the two brands.

Do you have any LXF files of this truck?

Nice trucks!

I like how they look at the same time brick-built (rather than using big parts) and rather realistic/detailed.

edit: and I see it is an old thread from 2009 that was upped by utfcmac here above... :hmpf_bad:

You did an AMAZING job. You really don't see people doing Shell LEGO stuff anymore and I personally think that LEGO should renew their partnership with Shell.
