Arrr! More ships to sink guys!

It looks a very nice project Hound Knight. She will be well armed for a ship with 4 midsections (4 right?)

I'm already fond of the bow, nice to use arches! I would change them into another colour though since it's all brown now.

Hmm, I really need those new cannons to fill my next ship with... :pir_laugh2:

Keep it up matey, she looks great already!

I think this will turn out to be a very fine ship! Is it going to have 3 masts, or maybe 2? And are you also going to build a figurehead on it? I think it's a good idea for the bluecoats to keep an eye on this project since I think this ship is going to be dangerous... good luck with the rest of this ship.

Thanks, what color of arches would you suggest? Oh, and there a 3 midsections (that's all I have currently).

Lt. Gecko will capture your ships with his marines and I'll get prize money! Ha! :pir-devil:

2 Masts, and yes, I'll build a figurehead of some sort.

Prepare the gallows! :pir_laugh2::pir-tongue:

I'd suggest make them yellow, that will fit nicely with the coloursheme.

And perhaps another midsection since it looks a bit bulky now.

I don't know which colour I should use for the gunports, dark red probably.

In real the width of the stern should fit 6 times in the length of the ship for the ideal dimensions. In LEGO it's different of course. My stern fits 4,5 times in the length.

It looks like you've got an awesome ship there so far, be careful though the Bluecoats won't steal the design!! :pir_laugh2:

Lookin' great, Hound Knight!

I would suggest keeping it the same length, as a short, bulky ship looks quite powerful with all those cannons!

Thanks, that's the look I'm going for, "powerful". :jollyroger:

Wow I really love the ship mate! I love the inside, Hmm Shiny cannon...

I would get someone on the bow cannons to blow those bluecoats out of the trees!

I would say change the colour scheme but it will soon just look that same as the other ships already made.

I like your bow!

Please Blackmoor be reasonable and surrender.

British Red Coat navy to date:

HMS Prince of Wales, HMS Unicorn, HMS Eurayles, HMS Ajax, HMS Ubiquitous, Scimitar, HMS Orion, HMS Minotaur, HMS Bellerophon, Serapis, HMS Orinoco, HMS Kestrel, HMS Diadem, HMS Unpredictable, HMS Floater

HMS Legomalee, HMS San Legonio, HMS Knight, HMS Knight II, HMS Agressor, HMS Repulse, HMS Endeavour, HMS Leopard, HMS Sirius, HMS Inventive, HMS Achilles, HMS Active, HMS Victory (Not Teddys),

HMS Repentance.

And your ships?:

La Mort Royale, Le Requin, Sang Royale, L'Orient, La Gloire and L'Aigle and a few more. (Not being bias)

Naa, not before we even encountered you at open sea...
And your ships?:

La Mort Royale, Le Requin, Sang Royale, L'Orient, La Gloire and L'Aigle and a few more. (Not being bias)

Those ships aren't small ships... most of them are fourth rates.

And how dare you to forget the Le Formidable! 24 guns isn't that weak otherwise...

YnyklY's ship the L'Aigle isn't finished yet, you will be shocked when you see it set course towards you!

Oh and wait, there's something in my shipyard as well... another fourth rate with 40+ guns...

So be gentle and don't ask for surrender, it seems to be you are afraid and you want to avoid a fight...

We'll see what the future brings!

Nice name you've got now Houndblower!

Now you should only fix your signature.

Erm... never mind... :pir_laugh2:

We shall see how your navy of 5 stands up to our navy of 30 ships.

HMS Prince of Wales, HMS Repulse, HMS Ajax, HMS Repulse, HMS Legomalee, HMS Leopard, HMS Active are all 2 Deck gunned ships with over 30 cannons on each ship.

HMS Victory has over 100 Cannons, HMS Unicorn (My upcoming ship) will have 113 guns!

It's not fair to call your friends from years ago, the ships maybe don't even exist anymore. :pir_laugh2:

I think it will be a nice challenge to fight your 113 gun flagship! And I'm looking forward to see it, since it really looks a cool project. In the time your ship is finished I (hope) to have a fleet of a sixth rate (Le Formidable) a fourth rate (Le Fourageux) and another secret project I'm thinking on. It's not a first rate though.

I haven't that much room in my room to store my vessels, and I want to keep them!

Don't forget it's about tactics, outnumbered guns are only an adventage matey. :pir-wink:

I've studied some books with fantastic tactics... And Empire Total War proves it really works...

We're really sliding off topic now, I thought this topic was about Houndblower's ship. We'd better discuss this "matter" in a seperate topic somewhere in the future. :pir-wink:

Of course I have seen the pictures, but it's not a realistic battle. :pir_laugh2:

A brig with about 20 guns against the 104 guns of the Victory...

And brigs weren't active in heavy seabattles, brigs are escort and small warships. Not even a rated ship so it wasn't classified for battle. The British had 6th rates to 1st rates which were used for battle. :pir-blush:

but, as i've said in one topic its not about size its about tactics :pir-wink::pir-tongue:

HEAR HEAR GENERAL!!!

It looks great, but the stern looks a little flat. But that is just what I think.

P.S I hope that Zuloo and Armendariz manage too destroy that dirty Brittish ship.

My past British ships are scuttled... The HMS Knight and the HMS Aggressor are destroyed. If we are bringing up past ships, then I have one for the FRENCH list, my Le Soleil Royal a 104 gun ship of the line. Here is her link http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=263132. Ah.. I almost forgot the main point of this topic, the Ship wip. She looks good so far. A few pointers, I would make the cannons at least three studs apart, two studs is just too close together. One more thing is I don't know if I like the fort wall bricks above the gunports. I like the color scheme and the headrails look interesting, Ill be waiting to see the final result. Quick question, What color will the cannon ports be?
