Captain Blackmoor Posted December 22, 2008 (edited) Vig. 50b For us, the year 2009 is coming fast and we're preparing to celebrate. But how did the French army celebrated the new year back in 1789? The French army was preparing to celebrate the new year with loads of firework and old ammunition. But they had a task to do before celebrating: Execute the pirate prisoners before new year. Two soldiers came up with the idea to combine the task with the celebration, and so they ended up with this: Notice even the parrot won't be saved. :pir-skull: More on Brickshelf Thanks for looking and a happy new year!!! Captain Blackmoor Posted December 22, 2008 (edited) Sorry if the story is a bit unclear. This is an example how the French army celebrated new year. This celebration is from 1789. I've posted this small MOC because it's almost new year. I've edited the story a bit so everything is clear now. Thanks for the feedback though! Francis Marion Posted December 23, 2008 Well, the French may be having fun, but the pirates aren't going to be having a "Happy New Yarrrr!" Bad buns aside (I'm on a roll today), I like the MOC as a whole, it has a varrry interesting concept to it. I'll actually put the bad puns aside right now (I'm on fire like those pirates will be), I particularly like the gunpowder trail, it's a rather fun concept. P.S.- I'm very sarrrrry about the puns P.P.S.- I know how to actually spell "year," "puns," "very," and "sorry," but the spelling was slightly altered for the full effect of a bad pun
