Are these... rare?

Recommended Posts

A few months ago, I purchased these sets for $7.99 each at TRU:

But looking on Brickset only a total of 5 people own these sets.

So were they rare or not released in some places?

Thanks,

I believe that somehwere some one stated that they were designed but never released.

Last I checked, these didn't exist...

A review, or even just a few box pictures would be nice. :classic:

Cool find! Even though these are rare, I can't believe you payed eight dollars for those

Well, they're interesting, and I obviously wouldn't mind having them, but fortunately they just aren't rare parts.

Clearly they meant to release them, since they made instructions available.

Skeleton Chariot

Knight & Catapult

So, at least we can recreate them, if there is a great desire to do so.

Reviews would be nice though, since they are real sets, and rare ones at that.

*huh*

I was pretty sure this wasn't ever released in any way.

But let's not get into the discussion on wether they were as promotionals or not.

Perhaps you could post pics of the polybags or boxes?

Personally I've just recieved the bricks for both sets, all I need now is to print the instructions.

So without box or polybag pictures, I call your bluff

Hasn't there been rumors floating around saying these sets are to be released in '09?

Nice Santa Smiley, KimT!

I wanna ask...

Aren't these true?

I've seen them a few months ago on brickset.com.

http://www.brickset.com/search.aspx?Year=2...mp;Theme=Castle

And have been waiting for them for a long time...

If those are not true I will be very disappointed....

Well originally we thought they would be released this year, but for whatever reason, they never ended up in any stores or on S@H.

I'm not sure if there was an official statement on the matter though. So, they were real, but it looks like we may never be able to buy them.

The parts would be quite easy to buy though if you still wanted to make the model. :classic:

Sorry for the confusion guys, these weren't the sets that I purchased. I thought they were when I found them on Brickset, but als they aren't. The sets that I am thinking about are Knights Kingdom sets that were on clearence.

Feel free to close this topic, unless you want to leave it open for discussion of these two sets.

Sorry once again,

Gotcha :tongue::laugh:

Let's leave this open for discussion on those two sets.

I'll rename the topic to fit a little more.

I'll be doing reviews of both within the week.

KimT, did you manage to build multiple sets for your Skeleton Chariots?

Anyway, there are instructions available and I think it won't be that hard to assemble the required parts.

Erhm..

They don't exist.

Yes I managed to acquire bricks enough to actually make 20 sets of each.

I'm considering what to do with those 40 sets in total.

Promotional sets. Only problem is, I don't know who the company was that was giving them away...

C'mon guys.

If these were real, then we'd have polybag or boxshots all over brickset, bricklink and brickshelf.

Noone has ever seen a boxshot.

All we've ever seen is the picture from the instructions in LEGO's cache.

So let go of your promotional dream.

These sets were never produced.

The next one to say so, better have the box or polybag to back up his/her words.

I emailed Lego Customer Service about these two sets, and here is the answer I got:

Dear Matthew

Thank you for your interest in LEGO
