Hi, I make alter and duplicate lego parts or parts for them. Some of my latest projects have been swords, muskets, pistols, and a more accurate shipboard marines hat. Does anyone else doi this?

There are some people involved in making customs on this forum, but that is very difficult and expensive.

How do you make yours? Do you have a pic of the marines hat, Im interested in that since I'm into historical Lego building.

I'llbe glad to do it al for you i am a bit limited on time at the moment, but i'll get it allup in a bit for you.

I do make my own molds out of a special silicone material, the most complex mold i have made is a three part mold.

the resine is a form of epoxy, and can be died with various dies. another neat thing is you can paint the inside of the mold with arcrylic paint and when you cast the piece the paint will adhere to it and wont come off.

i'll put up some links to where i get my casting stuff.

Oh, the way i do it is relatively inexpensive too

You ever considered going into the custom part selling business?

We could really use some (cheap) custom stuff, like shakos and weapons for pirates, weapons for Star Wars,...

These are available through others but they are often (very) expensive.

Please show us your creations if you have the time.

Yes! I posted first after the picture! Does that mean I get a complementary one for caring about your creation? :pir-tongue: I really like that hat. Do you have any other molds?

Your tophat/shako looks really good, Captain Junior, could you please tell us how much one of them would cost?

I mean productionprice, I might be interested in using your system, or if you would commercialize, buying them from you. There are some things that need more clarification though, like how hard is the plastic? Can t be easily scratched or is it made like Lego?

I admire your creativity !

Um, lets see, the casting set is about $60 in comes with 28 oz of fluid and a tup of mold stuff. I got mine at a 40% discount at a local store. The plastic is pretty much the same. I made a ton of stuff with just the initial set about 20 cannon, this is with them being solid and drilling out the barrels, at least 20 hats, plus a bunch of other stuff for playmobil, ect price figured out its about 25c per cannon raw materials, i dont know about smaller items.

I might consider selling them, however it may take me a year to set up shop to work efficently, and i live in the US so world shipping might be more costly, but definatly to consider.

Yes i have many others, cutlasses, pistols, rifles, cannon, carriages, and a couple of others, as well as some for playmobils. And thanks for being the first one for replying, and if i go into the buisness of selling them, i'll give you a free one :pir_laugh2:

That's some very nice work there. I can't wait to see how the pistols, rifles, and cutlasses, turn out to look like....

they are almost exact duplicates of the lego ones, except for the muzzles do not have a depression in them. Andd the cutlasses are duplicattes too.

I really like the Modified Top Hat. :pir-wub:

Nice work Cpt

It looks much more real and better (in overall) then the one TLC made... from me, and please make more pirate items.

Are those weapons homemade??? The cutlass, I can see some modifications and color differences, but the pistols look so real to me...

Just looking at the tophat on my cupboard (don't ask me why I have a tophat on my cupboard) I see it does have turned up edges, so good work in replicating the real thing a little better.

thanks, i just need to ad a plume thing a ma bob on it. As to the pistols, the inside of the mold was painted brown witha rcrilic paint and it stuck to the moulding compound. they are duplicated. except for the musket that the marine is holding. The cutlasses are more metallic, and i hope to be posting some pics of a proposed prototype pistol, it should be in a day or two.
