Stauder Posted August 7, 2008 Welcome to another exciting episode of EB News Presents, I'm senior host and photographer for the evening, ImperialShadows, and this ... is Ronald McDonald. Seriously, Staudie, why do you look like that? I just wanted to wear all the same colour, but I'm colourblind. How does that change anything? You planned to wear all green instead? I always wondered how that worked! Was that? Ignore him, he'll go away. He looks silly. Speaking of looking silly, that's Staudie who has been acting as junior host lately, and doing a pretty good job when he isn't moonlighting as a fast food icon. I really do sort of look like him... How did he get over there so fast? I'm not really sure. That's a pretty good trick. Yeah, but he looks like... well... he's all brown. Oh, you mean he looks like a Don't do it, Staudie. The FCC would kill us. And here is our guest... er... here are our guests... uh... It's just one guest. But there are two of them. He's like that. Great. I need more weird in my life. Just get started. Staudie: Ok, Welcome to EB News Presents, Nannan. Nannan: Thank you for the invite Staudie: Thanks for coming. Staudie: Lets start. so, Why the screenname Nannan Z? Nannan: It's my real name, which happens to be crazy enough to be passed off as a screen name as well. Staudie: That sure must be a conversation starter... Nannan: People in real life have twisted that into many variations for sure. Staudie: You have a unique style of building, what can you tell us about that? Nannan: I build in what fascinates me at the moment, and currently it's a lot of dark subject matter. Nannan: Don't be the next to request me seeing a doctor, because I'm planning on being one myself. Nannan: In case you don't know, many times I've been sent that request. Staudie: Actually I like it, it's a interesting style. Staudie: What is the story behind those black figs so associated with you? Nannan: I'll try to make my responses as witty as I can, I've done several serious interviews Nannan: so I'm hoping to add variety Nannan: The theme is called black fantasy, it's an invasion of biomechanical horrors Nannan: I currently don't have a storyline, but I may develop one in the future Staudie: We have had our share of responses. The Good, the Bad and the down right hilarious. Staudie: What is your favourite offical Theme? Nannan: Favorite theme is Star Wars Nannan: there are profit motivations behind it as well Nannan: did you know the minifigs sell a lot? They partially fund my brick-buying Staudie: Interesting theory... I tought you had a magical elf that pulled all those bricks out of his nose... Nannan: You must have me mistaken for Sir Nadroj Staudie: Your 3 all time favourite sets? Nannan: 6769 Fort Legoredo Nannan: 2152 Robo Raptor Nannan: 7419 Dragon Fortress Staudie: Interesting choice... Most people go for some pirate set or a SW set... Nannan: My picks are for nostalgia's sake. Staudie: Your moment of lego related glory would be? Nannan: LEGO glory? Gosh, let me think about it Nannan: Perhaps staging a black fantasy invasion of a layout at BrickCon in October. Nannan: I hope to amass an army by then Staudie: Well, usualy I ask your moment of glory on EB, but you are not a Member of EB are you? Nannan: I'm not a member on EB yet Nannan: I don't want to sign up to be a lurker Staudie: Plan to join aytime soon? Nannan: I'm busy with a variety of LEGO related activities Nannan: We'll see Nannan: Though if I'm going to join another community, EB is very likely to be it Staudie: What is your opinion on the way TLC is going this year? Nannan: Each year seems better than the previous year and the themes keep getting better and better Staudie: Next question, what are your future plans? Lego wise of course. Nannan: Keep on building and inspiring others, Nannan: keep on proving how twisted the mind can be, Staudie: Do you have pictures of your building lair to show us? Nannan: Not at the moment, some might loose their sanity Staudie: That is not a problem we have at EB... Staudie: Am I annoying? Nannan: How pleasant :) Staudie: Right... Staudie: Anyone you can reccomend for EB News to interview? Nannan: Ever heard of Builders Lounge? Any name on our members list is a good choice. Staudie: You think Kaminoan would be a good choice? Nannan: Yes, definatley. Staudie: Anything you'd like to say to EB? Nannan: let's see Nannan: Keep it sane and don't listen to the madman Staudie: Not a good thing to say since most of the staff are "the madman" Nannan: ok, I underestimated Nannan: Thanks for having me contribute to the insanity :) Staudie: It was my pleasure to have you contribute to the insanity :D Nannan: Thank you, my pleasure Nannan: later Staudie: One last question, how long does it take you to build a medium sized Moc? (like the last ones on Flickr) Nannan: let's see Nannan: I plan most of my MOCs these days and don't have much time to build Nannan: It takes only a week for the actual building, but planning can take weeks Hinkley: Ai-Ai-Ai-Ai-Ai! I am Hinkley hear me babble! Nannan: and photography is at least most of a day's work Stauder: Ignore him. He has a over inflated ego. Hinkley: Yes. Yes I do. But why would they want to hire someone who doesn't do anything but annoy people? Why didn't you ask that when they hired you? Oh yeah. One of the more well known MOCers, at least to me anyway, I always see his work cropping up all over the place. Go Black Fantasy! But wait, he's not an EB member? You mean there's such places beyond the walls of this place? These admins have been telling us lies all these years! Rise up, people! Revolt, and help set us free to explore the mysterious places beyond our seemingly small world! Or is that just me? Oh well, that was fun while it lasted. Excellent photography, and great to see IS back too. What more could I want? Hinckley was even there! EB News is definitely back in business. I'm not sure if that's a good thing though... I thought he was an EB Member/Lurker in here. Nannan, hope you will join up in this community and am glad to get to know a little better about you as well. Your Black Fantasy is very imaginative. I think we finally found the right format and the live interview, while not perfect, works a lot better. I guess we'll have to redo all the old ones now ... Oh hell no. Forget it. I picked up a random parts assortment on eBay and when it came in, I found an Admiral's bicorne with an area of missing print. A little Brasso and 10 minutes later I had a prefectly white and incredibly smooth bicorne. It's amazing stuff, even though I won't do it to anything but damaged print. Sir Dillon Posted August 9, 2008 Good job on getting Nannan to do an interview, Stauder. I enjoyed reading about him. I like the live interview, because it allows for follow up questions and such, but as it is the format seems a bit jumbled to me.
