Well 2024 LEGO Speed Champions released 2 last cars (F40 & NASCAR) so came time to discuss about 2025.

Somewhere in internet I read LEGO go all in F1 cars in 2025. What's your thoughts?

There were rumors that the sub-theme of next year will be F1, like the theme of space this year, but releasing Formula 1 2 years in a row is strange, unless you play it off like in the old sets, a team truck or other equipment in addition to the car.

If we're looking at pure speculation, or wishlisting, I'd love it if they continued with the IMSA GTP cars; especially if they released an "old + new" pack. Though, I don't think it's likely as the only current GTP contender that had a car in the 80s/90s GTP class is Porsche, and we've already got their current car, as well as a raft of MOCs for the 962 and 956. Maybe if they open it up to include the LMH cars, we could see an LMH + Group C double pack which would be pretty rad. There's opportunity for a few of those cars, Peugeot with their 9X8 could be paired with any of the Group C era 905 variants (a 905 EVO2 "Supercopter" would be amazing... I may tackle that one myself). Toyota's current GR010 could be paired with an 88CV, or TS010 for GroupC, or maybe the Eagle MKIII for a GTP tie-in. Ferrari may have to look further back into their Le Mans history to pull a double pack as they never made a GroupC car, but the 499P could be paired with a 333SP for a more modern tie-in. Looking a bit further back maybe the 250 T/R would be cool, or maybe a 250P or 275P, or keeping it to more purebred prototypes a 330P4 would be a great addition.

I'd also love to see more classic race cars in general. If they insist on F1, an old + new F1 pack would be really cool. Alpine/Renault with a '79 RS10 would be a dream, Ferrari with a 156, 1512, or a 641? McLaren with an MP4/4, or an M7A... OR have a lot of fun and bring in a Can-Am car for its pair with an M8D? Williams has a raft of great classic picks as well, like the FW14B or FW19. Mercedes could be paired with a W196, or go cross-discipline and bring in a Mercedes-Sauber C9, C11 or C291 from their Group C stable. Red Bull could use the Honda tie-in to include a Honda RA300...

Getting even further out there, a good Indycar set would be nice; especially if it spawned a new windscreen to use since we don't really have a good part for the Aeroscreen. An MX-5 Cup car would be a lot of fun. Honestly I'm down with any race cars that aren't just modern F1, really.

Realistically we'll probably just get another [insert generic modern hypercar here] and [insert dull, overweight modern "sports car" here], though, paired with some SUV. Shame the modern automotive industry is so boring.

If we are wish listing:

  • I still want a BTTF DeLorean in Speed Champions scale. (Maybe it should come with parts to make into a stock DeLorean, along with interchangeable BTTF 2 / 3 parts?)
  • I'd also like a Goldfinger Rolls-Royce to compliment James Bond's DB5 from a few years back.
  • I would kill for a two-pack of old-fashioned cars from the opening of Temple of Doom. (a 7628 remake, perhaps? I know it has a snowballs chance in hell... but a man can dream!)
  • I'd also like a few CARS vehicles that can (maybe?) be modified into being minifig compatible, such as Tow Mater and Doc Hudson.
  • Oh, and while we're at it: a Pizza Planet delivery truck would sell like hotcakes, as would the car from Incredibles with prologue suit Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl and maybe even Bomb-Voyage for a complete scene.

Yes, yes, yes and yes! I'm dreaming about it since 2021. But unfortunately I don't think LEGO will do it. I noticed that LEGO isn't too interested in American sports (except NASCAR and Dodge Mopar).

Another dream is Australian Supercar Series. "Strange" looking cars but this isn't very recognised series here in Europe.

Probably we won't get LMH/LMdH cars cause many MOC's designers did it and LEGO could be too not profitable for them.

I hope for LMGT3 cars (Ferrari 296 LMGT3, Lexus RC F LMGT3, Porsche 911 LMGT3,...) and LMP2 cars.

Yes of course! Let's show us your predictions!

By the way my are here:

- Porsche 956

porsche-956-lh-solido-post-image.jpg

- Jaguar Vision GT

Jaguar%20Vision%20Gran%20Turismo%20SV%20

- Ferrari SF-24

or Alfa Romeo C43

- Toyota GR010 Hybrid & Yaris Rally1

toyota-gr010-hybrid-1.jpg

WRC_2022_Rd.12_362?wid=1280&fit=fit,1&ts

- or duo-pack with Ferrari SF-24 and 499p or 296 GT3

_________

Also I don't know what to think about F1 sets. Chris (ex SC designer) told us 1 or 2 years ago that they resign from stickered lights and extras like pit lane, etc. But as we can see Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 NASCAR and BMW M Hybrid V8 had stickers as a light. So maybe we'll see pit lane or transporter.

What's your thoughts?

I'd be down for any/all of the above.

Really I'd buy any race car that isn't a NASCAR stock car or a contemporary F1 car (says the guy with the McLaren and Mercedes F1 sets on his wall...). I'd actually probably pick up a smaller series NASCAR vehicle like a truck or a modified, but those are definitely too niche for LEGO to consider, I'm sure.

Okay then! Here goes.....

SINGLE CARS

Porsche 911 Dakar

Official: Porsche 911 Dakar - GTspirit

We've had modern 911s in the SC range before but they've all been race cars. It's time we had a modern road going 911. This would be a very interesting choice. Extra points if they include the roof rack with luggage and jerrycans like in the image.

Zenvo Aurora Agil

Aurora_Agil_Clean_fr_q-gigapixel-standard-width-12000px.webp

Lego Speed Champions have had lesser known supercar marques before like Koenigsegg and Pagani and Zenvo is kinda up there. On top of that, Zenvo are Danish like Lego themselves. They're practically neighbours.

1978 BMW M1 Procar

The BMW M1 Procar

Now that BMW is part of the SC theme, it's a perfect opportunity to tap into their past and the racing version of the car that kickstarted the M division seems like an ideal pick.

I hear that Lego will be doing more F1 themed sets in the same way they did for Space. I say the most likely F1 car to pop up in the SC range next year is either Ferrari or Mercedes.

TWIN PACKS

Ferrari 499P & 1967 330 P4

Ferrari 499P Le Mans Hypercar – Maranello returns to endurance racing | evo

The Story of the 1967 Ferrari 330 P4: Much More Than The Ford GT40's Nemesis - autoevolution

Surely, Lego would want to make a set or two of the Ferrari 499P seeing as it has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans the past two times now. Also, while the 296 GT3 is also a good pick for the second car, I personally would like to see Lego make a set of the beautiful 330 P4.

Lamborghini Revuelto & 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV

Lamborghini Revuelto - Wikipedia

This 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV Is One Of Just 21 Built For The U.S. | Carscoops

This would be a good twin pack. Lambo's latest flagship alongside their first greatest hit!

Alpine A424 & Alpine A110 GT4 EVO

Alpine Endurance Team unveils the A424 Hypercar livery | 24h-lemans.com

Essai Alpine A110 Pikes Peak. On a pris le volant du prototype de plus de 500 ch !

Finally, here's a newcomer i'd like to see in the Speed Champions theme. Not only do we get another LM Hypercar to add to the collection, but there's also a Pike's Peak rally car too.

So, there's my predictions. Let's see which one makes it into next year's range......

If I heard correctly LEGO Speed Champions in 2025 will go to the electric cars too. So probably the Tesla will come with fire 😂

BTTF AW HECK YEAH Cars would be a great add on to the 2018 CARS 3 sets! The RR i wouldnt say no to lol. INDIANA JONES DodDOAOOooODOddooDODODOd *goes insane slightly*  the incredibles would be cool. i think they should make a kenworth W900 or K100 car hauler tho.

they should start a Trains set series in lego. My personal favorites are The new york central 4-6-4 dreyfuss hudson, The UP 4-8-8-4 (yall prolly know) BIG BOIAY, A southern pacific SD-40, or GP38, Def the 4449 daylight, And the santa fe EMD F7.

I'd LOVE if they dove into the archives for some historic F1 stuff. Anything 50s through 90s will be an instant buy from me. Modern stuff... Eh, not so much.

10 F1 sets with 10 teams on the grid sounds like we are getting 10 recolours of the same set which is going to be boring. Plus the theme should finally live up to its name and launch some actual champions, i.e. motorsport legends and not some irrelevant modern road cars. The only sets that fit that description so far have been the Audi Quattro, Ferrari 512 M and MaLaren F1 LM. Getting F1 cars is at least a step in the right direction, even if most of them are still irrelevant historically.

More rumoured info for LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 2025 wave (brickfanatics.com)

Just found this article and it seems that the March '25 wave is going to consist of 10 sets. All priced the same with similar piece counts. Ten sets. How many teams are currently competing in Formula One? Ten. Every single team in F1 at the moment will soon be immortalised in bricks.

The summer wave that will consist of 5 sets may not be F1 though so just for a short period, Lego Speed Champions will be completely F1 themed.

According to r/legoleak, a Bugatti and a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution will be coming in 2025. I highly believe this will be the Tourbillon and the F&F Tokyo Drift Mitsubishi Evo (which is a 2006) respectively.

We got a car from the original F&F, then 2F2F, so it makes sense that the next Speed Champions F&F car will be from Tokyo Drift.

Legoleak also says the 2025 Speed Champions range will consist of only singular $26.99 cars.

I'd love a red Evo! However I still think Han's Veilside RX7 is the more iconic car from Tokyo Drift. Luckily there's a quite good rendition of the car by a Chinese brand.

Agreed. Even as a non-F&F fan I love the Speed Champions sets and the Veilside RX7 truly is the car on Tokyo Drift, though the "Mona Lisa" Silvia has a following too.

@TandNbricks is hinting at more movie-based sets in 2HY 2025. I hope we venture beyond F&F this time

One of the limitations is the name of the theme itself. Otherwise iconic cars from well known IPs get disqualified just for that, like Mr Bean‘s Mini :laugh_hard:
