Designing the front of train locomotives

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I often get stuck when designing the curves or shapes of train locomotives, and I really hope to receive some advice on how to get the pieces right and how to fix them onto the build.

All suggestions are very appreciated, thanks again for your help 😄

Last thing:my English is pretty bad,so please ignore the grammar mistakes I made, thanks.

basically you play 4d ches, if a part doesnt work in one orientation it might work in another. as for how to get the pieces right sometimes it helps to see if other people have built something similar to what you want and go from there, not completely copying them, but just looking at building techniques, @HoMas books are a good starting point, or just look around, everyone likes to build things differently, and has their own style. one thing to be aware of is that no one is born a master of building, it takes time to develop your skills and your own technique, so dont be ashamed of yourself if the builds dont look like the ones here.

XG BC is right! After checking various building technics and among them, the SNOT ones, you will see what style suits you more and you feel more comfortable with and then you should start additional experimental building.

Also, try to make use of the curved parts that are really helpful.

If you feel comfortable with it, you could post a photo pointing out your issue, which might help for better advice.

Also, I think it's best to start with the most complex part (eg the front) and then build the rest from there, rather than the other way around.
